Not since reading some of the works of Charles Spurgeon have I come across a clearer and more concise treatise of the fundamentals of the Christian life. Exactly what is salvation and how is it achieved? What is the real meaning of the Blood of Christ? How are we to relate to the Cross? What exactly is personal sanctification and consecration? These subjects and more are presented in a very understandable manner. The simple teachings here are much needed in today's church which is often falling off of the straight and narrow path of truth.

Watchman Nee was, without a doubt, a gifted teacher. Although I own a paperback copy of this book, I felt it worth purchasing the ebook as well. I like that I can refer back to it and reflect on the ideas covered anytime I find myself in need of something valuable to read--like during time spent in a waiting room at the doctor's office. If Mr. Nee's explanation of the book of Romans' description of the three ways the of Blood of Christ works in the life of the Believer were taught in more churches, there would be fewer Christians suffering under the weight of their past. Mr. Nee makes it easy to understand how it is the Blood of Christ that deals with what we have DONE; but the Cross deals with who we ARE. One deals with the sins we have committed, the other with the principle of Sin within us. Both are needed to live victoriously as Christians.

I would question the opinion of a 'pastor' who would also recommend the reading of a book that the author specifically says was to kill God, The Golden Compass, and at the same time diminish the time tested and proven record of Watchman Nee. There are very few writers that are able to so clearly explain the scriptures in a pragmatic and viable manner as Nee.

WARNING! The paperback edition that I got from this site (2008 Edition by Wilder Publications) is all garbled. A 3-page section is completely missing starting in the middle of a sentence, so that the rest of the sentence is actually the second half of a sentence from 3 pages later. (This is on page 28 of the Wilder version). I would recommend getting a version from a different publisher.

We have it on our shelf. I pick it up every now and then to read as a refresher in my daily walk in Christ!

This book revolutionized my Christian walk. Angus Kinnear did a great job in compiling Watchman Nee's sermons into this book. There's no doubt that Christ is the center of Watchman Nee's life, his words are so anointed by the power of the Holy Spirit that they will speak to your very heart.

Watchman Nee is a classic and worth reading but this version is not formatted for easy reading. Side load a free version.

This book really expounds the truths that are written in the scriptures. I picked this book up, and through it began to see the Bible in a whole new light. This is unquestionably the best book that I have ever read(except of course the Bible). A must read for any christian

Extraordinarily detailed and scholarly writing by famed Chinese Christian of doctrines from the book of Romans. Due to the age of the text (approximately 80 years), the modern reader will need to re-read many passages to get the full value from the text. It's worth it. Modern writings seem like skimmed milk compared to the cream-rich writing of Watchman Nee. Details what amount to good, better and best doctrines of the Christian's dying to sin and self.

I believe that this book is a must-read for all new believers. It lays a strong foundation of the work of Christ. This book is mostly based on Romans. As I started reading it, it started impacting my life and as I shared what I learned, I could see people around me getting impacted as well.
