This unit: • introduces the Normal distribution; • helps foster an understanding of when the Normal distribution is appropriate as a model for data; • develops an awareness of the importance of the Normal probability model in the study of statistics; • introduces the sampling distribution of a statistic and its application in making inferences from samples.
