Overview

The Notebook -- which was based on Nicholas Sparks' novel about an unusual love story spanning the '40s to the present day -- has a soundtrack that features Aaron Zigman's score and jazz and pop from '40s greats such as Billie Holiday, Duke Ellington, and Benny Goodman. Zigman's orchestral score ranges from the serviceable ("Main Title," "Allie Returns") to the sappy ("Overture"), and, on tracks like "Noah's Journey," nods to the instrumentation of big band music without trying to recapture the feeling of it. However, the original '40s cuts are the real stars of the soundtrack; tracks such as Holiday's "I'll Be Seeing You," Ellington's "Alabamy Home," and Goodman's "Always and Always" give the album -- and the film -- more character than the score does. Songs by Glenn Miller, Rex Stewart, the Ellingtonians, and Jimmy Durante also contribute to the soundtrack's atmosphere.

This movie and it's soundtrack is phenominal. It brings me back to the 40's! The music gives me tingles, and helps me remember what innocent love was like. Amazing.

i love this soundtrack! i fell in love with the movie, and left the theater in tears. i have seen it twice and love the music, especially the main theme and overture. when i saw the movie, the first thing i thought when i heard the opening music was "I've got to buy that cd!" it is heartwarming and gives new meaning to true and everlasting love :D

The movie was absolutely incredible and listening to this soundtrack makes you feel like you're living in the movie. The music made my cry as much as the movie did. I just can't stop thinking about 'The Notebook!'

I saw the movie twice in the theater. I now own it, and continue to watch the movie. The movie captures the book perfectly. If you love romance, and want to have a good cry, read the book and see the movie. You won't be dissapointed

I love the movie ,"The Notebook" its my favorite movie.I saw it at my friends house and i cried almost the rest of the night. After that I went home and watched it 11 times in a row.You cant get enough of the movie and the soundtrack. They didnt agree on much, in fact they rarely agreed on anything. They fought all the time, and they challenged each other everyday. But despite their differences, they had one important thing in common- they were crazy about each other ~the notebook

This is my most favorite movie. My friend told me about it and I rented it and I loved it so much I bought it. This movie was the best love story of the year. And all those actors were given great talents and were perfect together. This movie will be forever remembered by people everywhere.

I can't even begin to describe how wonderful "The Notebook" is.It's the most outstanding performance ever.Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling did an excellent job in this movie. The passion was breath taking!I love this movie so much that I have a shelf in my room which has three things on it: 1.The Notebook DVD, 2.A picture of the soundtrack and 3.The novel by Nicholas Sparks. This movie was AWESOME!!!!!!!Honestly,My mom thinks I'm obsessed with it because I've seen it exactly 36 times and it still has not got old.I plan to keep watching it till the day I die.Props to everyone who worked on the cast of "The Notebook"and also to Nicholas Sparks.Magnificant Movie!!!!

I saw this movie 5 times in theaters and had a countdown until when it came out on DVD! This is the best movie perhaps ever made. I have just recently come to discover the soundtrack which is also very good! If you like the movie i very much recommend the book... its just as touching as the movie!

What more can one say after seeing this movie. It was the most touching movie ever. Yes, it makes me cry very hard at the end no matter how many times I have seen it, but I totally understood how they felt. It was simple, they just wanted to be together forever no matter what...eternal love. It was beautiful...
