For her first book, Barbara Struna deftly weaves a story between different centuries, holding the reader's attention with each twist and turn! Adding to the well constructed plot is the careful research which embroiders the story. If you enjoy a historical novel, you'll love "The Old Cape House."

Just what I was looking for...simply written, a good story and perfect for the beach.

It has been a long time since a book was so bad I could not even finish it. The author never grabs your attention or entices you to want to read more.

The author of this book took me through every emotion a reader can have. I did not want to go to sleep. My eyes were burning so I had to stop but I knew what glory I had waiting for me in the morning! Very powerful dipiction of history.

Decent story, but the writing could use some work.

The story line is engaging, but I prefer more use of figurative language and descriptive writing. The novel was well written, not beautifully written.

Could have been a decent story if the author didn't write as if she were 15 years old; very disappointing - glad I didn't spend a lot!

I very much enjoyed this book. The writing was superb. The author would tell the story in the past, and present. She interwove the stories beautifully.

This author murdered a good plot ...the writing was very basic and kind of on the level of "run dick run".
