Meet the Author

I live in Virginia, where I am a writer and an editor. I also have a master's degree in deaf education. In my free time, I hike and savor frappuccinos.

Fact One: I like corny jokes. If you have any good ones, send them my way!

Fact Two: My favorite color is purple, but my writing is gray. Life is not black and white. I often write about issues and characters where there is no "right" answer.

Fact Three: I'm weird. I like being weird.

Email me at yllek_q@yahoo.com. I'd love to hear from you.

    Old Indeed

This is great I love to read about May-December love. Age should not matter when you are in love and this is a good example of what can happen when you don't follow your heart, think of all the time that was wasted over fear of what others would think most men don't think this way and we as women need to stop, go with your heart most times it is right.

    Lighthearted, quirky, enjoyable!

I highly recommend this short story collection. My favorites are "The Old Woman", "Funeral", and "Lili from the Future." A different style from this great author...the novels are fabulous too. If you want a couple hours of good, funny reading, check out this collection! Hmmmmm...I wonder about that first crush I had...

    Recommended!

I really enjoyed this short story - "The Old Woman". It's not too burdened with complicated scenario and characters. The story is not so deep but the idea is probably different because it's short and in its few words it keeps a special meaning. I recommend it because for such a short story it has a very nice way of reaching out and touching something important which sometimes we try too hard to bury and not see. Take a moment to read and enjoy this beautiful story - it's worth it.
