Editorial Reviews

School Library Journal - School Library Journal
Gr 5-8-- Vignettes of events and famous people are the focus of these books, with some history in Football and facts and trivia in Olympics . The former mixes people and games from college and professional football; one female high school player; and interesting occurrences in the history of the game, including the controversy about women reporters in locker rooms. Olympics provides interesting information mainly on U. S. athletes. Very little is given on the Winter Games; and there is nothing on the triumph of the U. S. Hockey team at Lake Placid. The statement that tennis athletes must not be over 21 is not accurate, as several who participated in the Seoul Olympic Games were definitely older than that. Each vignette is seldom more than one page in length, and most have good quality black-and-white photographs. --Janice C. Hayes, Middle Tennessee State University, Murfreesboro
