The Vanguards, #1

Only a vampire is man enough to teach werewolves how to fight.

Pretty librarian Sugar wants her life to stay quiet. That's hard enough when friends and neighbors turn into furry werewolves every full moon. But when a hot vampire gets involved, life's bound to get complicated.

The Omegas have always been the pansies of the paranormal. Now Chicago's top werewolf pack has issued them a life or death challenge. Their only option: hire a vampire warrior to teach them the moves.

Daedalus has been a powerful vampire for ages. Intrigued by the chance to train the geeks of the underworld, he wasn't bargaining on losing his heart to a human. Can he make the Omegas a success, fit into Sugar's quiet life, and avoid being ripped to shreds in the process?

This was a hot and adventurous paranormal quick read. The characters are what made this story so enjoyable for me. Once I got over his name, Daedalus was one fantastic hero. A bald and tattooed vampire fighting with the underdogs, how sexy. And once I stopped rolling my eyes at Sugar's name she was an effective heroine although, I wish we could have explored her past a little more we seemed to brush around the edges without thoroughly digging in. I loved the small Omega pack and I'm looking forward to reading everyone's individual story

I love to read wolf/vampire romance books and this book was spot on. I stayed up late to finish it! The next morning I was back on my nook looking of book 2 in the series!

This was a good story. I enjoyed reading it and would definately re-read it. The only disappointment I have is that the plot could have been developed into a longer story. I love the characters. It's a fun read, and I look forward to future Vanguard books.

I am a huge fan of this author, and this book had me feeling so many different emotions throughout. The hero is fierce yet adorably vulnerable, the tension and love scenes were...shall we say, whew (you might need a fan)! The characters are introduced here and will be focused on in subsequent books in this series, but they have all been introduced in such a way that I WANT to learn more about each of them, which isn't always the case in a series of novels. I just started book 2, The Alpha!
