Editorial Reviews

From Barnes & Noble

The author of this book is a nurse, a health and fitness expert, and a well-known speaker on diet questions, but her interest in the relationship between food and the body began as a very personal matter. Afflicted throughout her life with chronic medical problems and digestive issues, she searched for ways to improve her eating and fitness regimens. But none of the standard solutions worked. Not content to continue living a half-life, she researched and experimented with nutrition models to find one that really works with real bodies. The Omni Diet is the result of her probes.

From the Publisher
"The Omni Diet cuts through the confusion about what to eat and gives America a roadmap to good food and good health all at once."

—Mark Hyman, M.D., New York Times bestselling author of The Blood Sugar Solution

"Tana Amen shows us in an entertaining and simple way how to take care of our brains, with the great side effect of getting leaner and fit while you are at it! You’ll think better, feel better, AND look better!"

—JJ Virgin, celebrity nutritionist, fitness expert, and author of the New York Times bestseller The Virgin Diet

"My wife and I love how comprehensive Tana’s program is and how incredible her recipes taste. This is the path to a healthy brain and higher performance in life!"

—Brendon Burchard, New York Times bestselling author of The Charge

Do the math! The greatest time of growth in body development is birth to age 2. The perfect food for infants-breast milk. Protein content of human breast milk, 8%.  Recommending 30% protein is unhealthy, it burdens the kidneys, creates acid in balance and fuels cancer development. Book  recommend any more whole unprocessed plant foods is great. And getting rid of all dairy is healthy too. But the book also contains a lot of junk science .  One last comment, eating fat will make you fat.  All of a person  essential fatty acid requirements can be met by just eating 2 walnuts a day.

    Worth trying...

I purchased it to read on my nook, not a good idea, all lists and anything like pictures in the book cannot be read, text is too small, you can increase the font size on the actual book but everthing else stays small, I had to go and purchase the book to get lists, and planners, I could finally see the pictures. I find the book wordy, I have to keep going back and forth for actual information, I'm in my sixties and this can get confusing, I will keep plugging away till I can find a way to condense the information to a workable way for myself. Thank you, for all of the research.
