Overview

A fascinating way to read through the Bible! Now you can gain a better understanding of the order of biblical events and the historical context in which they unfolded. The One Year Chronological Bible arranges the entire Bible text—books, chapters, and even verses—in the order the events actually happened.

In The One Year Chronological Bible, prophetic books are interwoven with the historical accounts they accompanied. Psalms follow the events they were written about. Proverbs are placed in the time frame in which they were compiled. The life of Christ is woven into one moving story. And Paul's letters to the young churches in the first century are integrated into the book of Acts. Transition statements help you understand why some Scripture portions appear where they do. You do not have to be a Bible historian to appreciate the fascinating new perspective waiting for you in The One Year Chronological Bible. It's like reading some of your favorite passages for the very first time. Tyndale House Publishers

THE ENTIRE BOOK IN A YEAR!

My girlfriend and I love it. Everything is in order of events and time and it is an easy read day to day; ranging only 2-3 pages a day. Learning and reading about new events in the bible daily is truly exciting. We would recommend this product to anyone who would like to know more about the Bible (LIKE US!). There is also a handy question and answer companion available too that we go through.

Great for those who are familiar with the Bible, but probably not best for new Bible readers.

As someone who has studied and read the Bible since childhood, the Chronological Bible is a refreshing and interesting way to read it through! If someone would like to start a Bible reading regimen, I'd recommend the standard One Year Bible because it separates into Old & New Testament segments, Psalms, and Proverbs while the chronological may be a little heavy in some of the Old Testament books.
I enjoy the new perspective it gives and that it allows one to align the prophets with the kings, and the times in which they prophecied. Also in the New Testament, I enjoy how the activities and letters of Paul are matched.

I appreciate the notes and footnotes, also.

    Chronological Bible

It's the Bible, so what could be said about the content? I like the NIV translation. I like it for the purpose of reading the Bible in a year, and also for the sense of history. I never realized, for example, that the story of Job was as early as it was. I wouldn't want to use this as my primary Bible, simply because it's more difficult to find specific chapters. I do like the format of having each reading section dated as to month and day.

    Insight

The "One Year Chronological Bible" is a wonderful guide for exploring the scriptures. I have personally read the New International Version (NIV) Bible multiple times and recently finished the New Living Translation (NLT) Bible. I was therefore interested in the perspective of Bible scholars, with regards to the order of events for Biblical stories and events. The "One Year Chronological Bible" provides some additional insight about the scriptures, based on the conclustions of these scholars. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in learning about the scriptures through the guidance of these scholars.

A fresh new way to read the Bible

I have used this Bible for a couple of years, perhaps not hitting every day each year, but getting nearly all of it in the course of a couple of years. It helps one to see more of the 'dynamics' of how the Bible was written because of the chronological sequencing. It is also helpful to have the explanatory notes in gaining a better understanding of who was doing the writing/speaking, and how the message fits in with the historical context.

    brings great insight for study

ha ha! I like what the other reviewer said, "It's the Bible, so what could be said about the content?" It's not a replacement for your everyday Bible - but it's excellent for study and continuity in understanding the history of God's people. (I'm about halfway through this chronological format now.) I'd highly recommend it to someone who wants to get a stronger connection to God, God's word, provision and vision for his people. it puts into a fresh (kind of a linear) perspective

I went through this with my wife last year. It was amazing to see the psalms in context. And to be able to see the minor prophets where they were in history make them make more sense. You can really see that God has been pursuing the human race since creation.
