Overview

Mason Wallace left his hometown to live his dream: he had the perfect career, a gorgeous wife and a beautiful baby girl. He was on top of the world, until it all shattered with the sudden death of his wife. Now he's back in Georgia, running his bar and trying to take care of his family. And he needs all the help he can get.

Rilla Grant's never been farther than twenty miles from her family's farm. Her overprotective father wants her to marry their church's youth pastor and settle down into the life he's chosen for her, but she's not sure that's what she wants anymore. Rilla's chafing to make her own choices, and that includes starting her own PR business and maybe even moving off the farm, no matter how much her dad hates it.

When Mason asks Rilla to work on some promotion for his bar, she's both excited and terrified. Excited, because it's just the opportunity she's wanted, and terrified because Mason, with his intriguing hazel eyes and drool-worthy body, is the kind of guy who makes her knees weak and her heart pound. He's the only one who's ever tempted Rilla to defy her family, and when she does just that by moving in to help take care of his daughter, they're both forced to make a decision that'll change their lives forever.

Sometimes love isn't the easy choice. Sometimes it's the only one.

This was a delightful and easy for the third book in thr trilogy. I enjoyed getting to know the characters and hearing how things had progressed in their lives. It was a bit predictable but that did not take away from the charm of this book.

Author has such a great way of telling a story! I read the entire trilogy and they all are great . She writes a lot like Nickolas Sparks and I love it,

Absolutely applaud this novel!  This story moves beyond the traditional love story. The overbearing and protective father could be one of many and the daughter with the strength to stand up for her beliefs is how the story begins.  Then, the readers meet heart-shattered Mason terrified of being hurt as he tries to hold the pieces of his life together.  The details in this tale play like a movie in the readers’ head and told in a fashion that will have you looking at a map trying to find this amazing small southern town.  You will want to visit this town and become a part of the characters’ lives.  I know my daughter fell in love and wants to find “Mason!”  A wonderful love story but not in the expected sequence we frequently find.  The novel could be read as a stand-alone, however, we do still connect with characters in the town from the previous books in the trilogy.  Where is the town of Burton, GA anyway?  This is certainly my favorite trilogy by this amazing artist.  Your heart will dance!

Tawdra Kandle did it again! In The Only One, she managed to weave a unique story with a very different feel from the two previous books  of The One trilogy. At the same time, this one is just as compelling and intriguing. The One is an incredibly sweet story. It addresses coming of age, advocating for yourself, finding and taking your place in the world, learning to let go of what holds you back, and more …  There will be laughs, tears of sorrow, and tears of joy; displays of human strengths and weaknesses. All of it so relatable. Really a lovely romance novel. Who knew life in a little Georgia town would be so intriguing? (Please note that I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.)

The Only One by Tawdra Kandle 5 stars! There's something great about reading a book that is part of a series, feeling like you already know so many of the other characters and can be a part of that world. This book let me dive right in, already loving this world, and get to know Rilla and Mason. I absolutely LOVED this one! Rilla is sweet, kind, strong, innocent, adventurous, I could go on. Mason is all of these things, and add in a sexy protective alpha male personality, and let the chemistry between them fly! The growth that both of them had to go through to get to the point of fully committing their hearts to one another was filled with plenty of ups and downs, but it melted my heart along the way. I could re-read this entire series and fall in love with each book every time. This was a great conclusion to the series, even with being sad that it's over. Tawdra made me wish I could visit Burton and get to know everyone in these books.
