Overview

THE OPIATE CURE tells the stories of painful people whose mental illness were relieved when they were given opiates for their pain. This improbable outcome has occurred in those with bipolar depression and mania, attention defi cit disorder, obsessivecompulsive disorder, and narcolepsy. These several diseases are now linked together, constituting the bipolar spectrum. Linked also to bipolar spectrum is chronic pain in its many forms, including migraine. This book will clearly demonstrate that bipolar spectrum is uniquely responsive to opiate therapy. The Opiate Cure offers new insights and, more importantly, hope.

When I started with the book, I wasn't too excited as I had no-one who is suffering from bi-ploar disorder. Half the way down, I am turned on. The book has good stories which make you understand the pain the people faced. The book also helps you in understanding pain, body's response to pain, the cure, the approach to treatment and much more. I really loved the book, coz, doctor himself has faced the pain and explains his approach to handling it. Good and highly informative.

This is the 3rd book by Dr. Robert T. Cochran, that I have had the privilege to read. Each one gets better and you will swear the book was written for you! The man is a genius when it comes to diagnosing patients who are in pain and who are dealing with difficult problems/symptoms in their life. He is a true believer that many people can benefit from the use of different medications such as opiates to cure many of their problems/diseases. By reading his case studies, you can not help see his compassion for his patients. He truly wants to help and see them get better. You can almost see the excitement on his face when his treatment plan has worked. Every patient is different and responds to medications differently, so he does not quit until he finds the treatment that works for each individual. Take my advice and READ THIS BOOK and also his other books. They will change your life!
