Plenty of POV... So many characters entwined to this story.  There was an assembly of horror, sci-fi, paranormal, and a bit of history that had me enchanted throughout.  My favorite character is Kate.  Unsure of her role, her abilities she just honkers down to aide the group in a heroic way.  A group is put together to try and save what may be the end of the world as they know it.  From disappearing children on dates that sync, to agents being killed that were sent to try and find out what happened, you are completely tuned in to find out what happens next.  Their was elements of history.. that was detailed that was put in this story that was amazing... even a little bit of Frank and Jesse James.  I look forward in reading Book 2

This book was a really exciting read.  It has a lot of action, yet it keeps you thinking.  It was really hard to put down.  I liked that this book included Excelsior Springs, MO, which is very close to where I live.  This book wove in historical facts and real people with wonderful, likeable characters.  At the end of the book, I felt like I knew Kate, JD and the others personally, and I liked them all very much.  It was a new experience for me to feel so personally involved with the characters.

This has become one of my new favorite series. The plot and settings are very original, and it has a big cast of very colorful characters. It’s hard to pick a favorite, but the Colonel and Murphy are at the top of the list from the original “team,” though all of the cool girl heroines are certainly commendable. I just gave Book I a re-read and it gets better with each successive reading, and if you think this one is good, just wait. This book sets up everything that’s to come. I notice the writers sow in plenty of clues about the following books, so it’s very thought out and well-researched. Can’t recommend these books highly enough.

purchase the rest. Lots of history, strong characters, different threads of the story that you know will come together in the end but you keep thinking "hey, what about.......so and so, what happened to her?"
