"On the Other Side of the Bonfire" is a delightful tale of friendship, redemption, and love.

Melinda Johnson has crafted another wonderful work of fiction; this time, the story revolves around the lives of three women, all of whom have ties to an Eastern Orthodox Christian parish in Western Washington. Elements of Orthodox practice are touched on, but in a way that is accessible for those of other faith traditions; no assumptions are made about the reader's background.

I found the story compelling, as the all-too-human characters in the story find their lives merging in ways they never could have imagined.

Looking forward to more from Melinda Johnson!
