The Other Sister

Editorial Reviews

All Music Guide - Leslie Mathew

Starting off weak with a trio of soggy songs among them a Diane Warren song done by the Pretenders -- horrors!, it picks the pace up in the mid-section with the Lemonheads' punky alt-rock version of "Mrs. Robinson" and tracks by Fastball and the Soup Dragons; and finishes strongly with a clutch of slow-burning, ...

Juliette Lewis makes a game attempt at "Come Rain or Come Shine," while Joan Osborne's "At Last" is a particularly fine effort. But, finally, like all too many soundtracks, The Other Sister, is not sufficiently different from all too many others to be described as really memorable. It's not the worst thing to listen to on a rainy evening in, but not much more.
