Rebecca Syme grew up in rural eastern Montana surrounded by a rich heritage of life on the farm, cowboys, and nostalgic western culture. Her love for storytelling and writing started early in life. She graduated with a degree in English from Montana State University and earned a graduate degree in theological leadership studies from Bethel Seminary near Minneapolis. She divides her time between writing, working with a local youth theater company, and spending time with her family and cat, Mikhail.
Her first book, His Wounded Heart, was published by White Rose Publishing: a story of a young hero recovering from a tragic accident as a smoke jumper that left him bitter and angry until his hope was restored with the help of a young physical therapist.
Her newest series of books, The Highland Renegades, opens with the story of a young nobleman in Scotland who has lost his family, his title, and his honor during the Scottish Wars of Independence. The Outcast Highlander is sure to launch R.L. Syme into the company of well-loved historical romance writers.
