    Eh

I don't expect to find great literature when I read a travelogue of a PCT thru hike. I read these to get a first-hand account of the hiker's experience on the trail, and that does not require good writing. But it helps.

In this account, the hiker's writing skills--or rather his lack of them--got in the way of my enjoyment of his tale. While I understand that a trail blog sent perhaps from a tablet or smartphone will have errors, I expect a published work that I pay money for to be edited for spelling and word use (their/there, lose/loose.) It is a matter of ethics to do so. In addition to that, to not do so makes the writer look like an idiot.

So here is the disclaimer the writer should have included with this travelogue:
WARNING! This is a completely unedited trail blog. It was written on a smartphone and has multiple typos. Additionally, the writer did not pay attention in English class. Therefore, this text contains frequent language errors that detract from the reader's enjoyment of the material contained therein.

The content? In addition to personal notes directed to family and friends (Really? You couldn't even be bothered to take those out?), there is an account of his thru hike. <yawn>

    A Trail Journal

This is an unedited & unproofed trail journal. It needs both editing & proofing.

    Good book for hikers

I really enjoy day hikes and finding out that some of my day hikes have been on parts of the pct.
