    Great! I couldn't put it down

    It started out slow and I found the main character unlikeable at first. I loved the building of the "love story" though the characters didn't act as I would have liked. Midway my gut told me what was going to happen, though I could't stop reading to find out how. I cried. Much was left to the imagination. The sex wasn't explicit and was tasteful enough. I mean they had to have sex. It was a love story

    weird twists...

    The story was going so well, it was believable, rich, and fun. I could hardly stand to put it down at the end of my lunch hour. Then things got weird, and if you're gonna read it I won't ruin it, but I just couldn't suspend my disbelief long enough to enjoy the ending or the explanations made by circumstances and other characters. The characters were well formed, so I felt like I knew them and things about them, but that twist, well I never got past it to say I enjoyed the book beginning to end. ALSO: the author at one point suggests via a character that gay novels just MUST include sex. This is me telling the author, publisher, agent, and anyone else who's listening: that's just not so. I would have loved (and hated parts of) this book just the same without the sex.

    Almost great

    I loved the way the story was going but halfway thru the book it started to become very soap opera like. Cranberry Hush is definitely better.
