Overview

After her former boyfriend left her pregnant and alone, Megan McKenzie swore off men. She spent the last eighteen months focused solely on her son, Mason, along with finishing nursing school at the top of her class. Although she’s not ready to complicate her life with a long-term relationship, a nice no-strings attached hook-up is just what she needs. At her godson, Noah’s, baptism, she finds the perfect candidate in the soft-spoken godfather, Pesh Nadeen. After all, the widower could use a good time too. But after drinking too much, the night doesn’t end the way she thought it would. Forced to leave Pesh’s house through a walk of shame, Megan hopes to never, ever see him again.

For Pesh Nadeen, the very sight of Megan sends him into an emotional tailspin. Since she reminds him too much of what he has lost, he wants to be out of her sight…at first. But the more he gets to know her, there's something about the diminutive blonde that causes his protective side to go into overdrive, and he finds himself wanting more. When Megan is assigned to work in his ER to complete her nursing clinicals, he sees it as fate, but she’s having no part of it. She only wants a physical relationship while he wants far more.

What happens next is a sexy game of cat and mouse to see who will break first or if both of them will eventually get more than they ever bargained for.

Katie Ashley does another great job in showing us how Pesh and Megan try to find a relationship with each other.  It was well written and nicely done.  I have enjoyed all of the books in this series.

Another steamy and hilarious book by Katie Ashley!

*I was given a copy of The Pairing for a honest review.

Katie Ashley is among the first independent authors I’ve had the pleasure of reading. Her books meet all my romance requirements–complex characters, deep back stories, and plenty of humor. I was happy to learn Katie decided to write a spin off novel for Pesh Nadeen, the “McDreamy Bollywood” Indian doctor from The Proposal. Even thought I was Team Aidan, Pesh’s character was so well written. I’m thrilled Katie decided to write his story.

Megan McKenzie, Aidan Fitzgerald feisty niece, is 0 for 2 in the love department. She’s been through a few really bad relationships in her short love life, one which yields her single motherhood status. Megan is also working her way through a nursing program. Basically, she is NOT the market for relationship. Pesh Nadeen is nursing a serious broken heart. After losing his wife a few years ago, he hasn’t dated since the disastrous attempt with Emma Fitzgerald. After meeting Megan during the christening of Emma and Aidan ‘s son, Pesh is intrigued by this beautiful and demonstrative woman.

One of the reasons I love Katie’s books are the feisty characters she creates. Katie creates a very honest dialogue for them, which I really enjoy. Megan is a very strong willed, determined person. She has goals and is unwilling to compromise them again after losing site of them at the beginning of her schooling career. I like that she isn’t a weak, “woe is me” person. She knows what she wants and sets out to get it. Pesh is a true gentleman. He isn’t looking for a meaningless hookup when he approaches Megan for a date. But that is exactly what she wants, no strings attached sex. The ensuing angst and dialogue between the two is great. I love the push and pull of their budding relationship. The gender reversal plot line is a great twist and kept me absorbed in the story. There were a couple of times I wanted to slap Megan upside her stubborn head. She couldn’t see beyond her relationship baggage to give Pesh a chance. I also loved some key scenes between Megan’s son Mason and Pesh. I flat out cried toward the end after one especially sweet and emotional encounter. It’s Katie’s writing as her best.

The sex factor is scorching in this book. Just because Pesh is a gentleman outside of the bedroom, doesn’t mean he doesn’t get his freak on in the bedroom, hospital supply closet, empty patient rooms, random hotels next to the restaurant they’re eating at, and private planes. Basically, both Pesh and Megan are making up for lost time and we reap those hot as hell sexual benefits!

I really loved The Pairing. Katie’s writing reminds me why I dove in headlong into the indie. world of publishing. The story is engaging and sweet. I love that this is a biracial romance. I get to fantasize about Hrithik Rosman as Pesh, a nice departure from my usual book boyfriends. I also really respect writers who incorporate humor in their books. It’s not easy and requires good timing, which Katie has in spades. I give The Pairing by Katie Ashley 4.5 out of 5 stars!

Move over Emma and Aidan, Pesh and Megan have arrived.

I am a huge fan of this series and was wicked excited that Pesh was getting his own book. He was so kind and loving to Emma in The Proposal that I knew I needed more of him. And boy was he just dreamy. I think Pesh and Megan are my favorite Katie Ashley couple out of them all and that is saying a lot since Katie knows how to write a loving, powerful and chemistry filled couple.

Megan, the niece to Aidan, is a single mom who has never felt what it is liked to be loved. The past men in her life just used her and discarded her. Pesh is a window whose wife had past away 2 years ago. His family wanted him to move on but after his time with Emma, he was hesitant. The two are baby Noah’s godparents and after the disastrous night after the baptism, Megan and Pesh realize they want different things.

Katie Ashley took us on a journey with this one. I loved the pace of this book, it was a slow build of their relationship but the book was never boring or dragged. Pesh gave Megan time to figure herself out and he was so romantic that I was falling in love. They had so amazingly hot sex. Can you say Tantric!!!!! Pesh and Megan had an amazing chemistry together through out the whole book. This was one couple I was routing for from page one. Megan is a hot ticket and Pesh is sinfully romantic.

I highly recommend picking up this book if you have read the series so far and if you haven’t read the series, WHAT AREYOU WAITING FOR????

ARC was given to me for an honest review.

is review is brought to you by a very happy woman. I have wanted

is review is brought to you by a very happy woman. I have wanted this book since I read The Proposition and the Proposal by Katie Ashley. I fell so in love with Pesh and the man he was from those books.  I needed him to have his own story and find the love and happiness that he more than deserved.

Pesh is the epitome of the saying tall, dark, and handsome. He is a doctor and caring one at that, with a great bedside manner. There is not one negative thing about Pesh, he is almost too perfect. He wants to love again and to be loved again. I could feel him with every fiber of my being. His first try at love after the death of his wife did not go so well, but left him with an amazing lifelong friendship.

Pesh is introduced to Aiden’s niece Megan, the chemistry was instantaneous. Poor Pesh, things once again does not go quite as he planned and Megan really seems to make him work for it. Megan is looking for fun not a serious relationship. The battle of the wills was fun to read and when the mixture comes together the chemical reaction was explosive. I learned some new and exciting sides to our handsome, sexy Pesh.  I also love that Pesh got more than he bargained for with Megan but all in the best way possible.

I can’t say enough how much I enjoyed this book, it is full of light and love, and sometimes made I was very emotional and I shed some tears. I love how Katie brought the cross culture relationship and showed it in a positive way. I think love is love and the heart decides for you and nothing should come between that.

I thank Katie for giving her fans this story, we did beg for it after all. We want more and I am also hoping we get Dev’s story. It would seem that there is still more to tell.

    definitely not her best

I thought there were a lot of unnecessary slams against nurses at beginning of book. She was going to become a doctor, but then she ended up "having to do the next best thing.... become a nurse". Story was ok, didn't really care about either of them. Liked secondary characters better than main characters.

    What a...

wonderful story. I loved Pesh in the other books and was so happy he got his own book. I thought when I first started it that he was being teamed up with the woman in the emergency room at the beginning. How surprised and happy I am with who he ended up with (don't want to spoil it!) The discovery was fantastic and the growing towards each other was one of happiness. I recommend this entire series.
