Something you’ll soon learn after first opening up the book, is that it isn't a 'diet' book, in the way that we have come to know, diet books. Contained within are hearty recipes, intended to leave the eater full, with the requisite amount of nutrition. For those keeping points, it should also be noted that, combined with regular exercise, the Paleo diet can lead to weight loss. "The Paleo Diet Solution", which is the sister book to this cookbook, puts forth empirical evidence for health improvement through adherence to the Paleo diet. If you read the book and were any way convinced to try it out, then this book is a must have. It offers more than enough variety of recipes to make your change to Paleo, as smooth a conversion as possible. There are 25 different types of breakfasts, considering that most people rely on a revolving choice of five or so staple breakfasts, this is more than enough to keep you intrigued on your morning jaunts into the kitchen. The substitutes for Paleo diet no-go’s are highly imaginative—almost ingenious. Due to the strict restriction on grains (i.e. bread), for the timeless egg-in-bread-hole, breakfast, you are told to slice and use eggplant instead. Definitely leaving you with the: why didn’t I think of that, feeling. The book gives snippets into where each benefit come from. So does who haven't read the 'Solution' book, and don't intend to, can still jump straight into the diet, and have a good base idea of where, and why the foods contain enough of your daily needs nutritional wise. Sandwich lovers will need the biggest change of mindset, as bread is a major no no on the diet. There are some alternatives in the book, that use lettuce in place of bread, they are fun to make and to look at(!) If you’re committed to the Paleo diet, in theory, you’ve already kissed goodbye to the sandwich. The really book comes into it’s own in the salad section, where there are 37 (yes, 37!) different varieties covered. In all it is a brilliant—maybe essential—accompaniment for anyone taking up the Paleo diet. You'll be surprised at how delicious it all is.

After purchasing and loving the cookbook that was included in the Paleo Diet Solution, I decided to invest in the larger cookbook. This cookbook is comparable to any other cookbook on the market with the added bonus of being healthy and part of a balanced diet. The best part of this cookbook is that it has so many options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and your family or roommates who are not partaking in the diet will never notice. The recipes are simple to follow without a surplus of ingredients to have to deal with. The cookbook is organized in a wonderfully helpful way with recipes people would not normally associate with a diet, including Paleo waffles, creamy mushroom stew, and Paleo-style Louisiana gumbo. These recipes are easy to make and the cookbook also gives you great directions on the best way to plate the meals. There is also a great sides and sauces sections and even vegetarian/vegan recipes for people who are on the diet but also do not eat meat. I would suggest this cookbook for people of every level of dieting, it is a great find.

I love this cookbook. Crack it open for a crowd-pleasing, healthy meal that is quick and easy. I got into the Paleo Diet based off of a friend's recommendation and I've been sticking to it. The strength of this book is the variety it offers. You never get sick from eating the same thing because there are so may options within the constraints of the diet. One night you can have Crunchy Pecan Chicken, the next Sausages with Parsnip Mash and Mushrooms (my favorite) or any number of delicious breakfast options. I love the balance of meat and vegetables. I feel healthier and more balanced. There is an unusual chapter on wild game options that I would like to try next time I visit a butcher. The author thinks outside the box but keeps the average cook in mind with all of his recipe directions. My friend and I exchange our favorites all the time. Very good purchase.

Who knew that a diet could still allow you to eat meat? This cookbook is full of easy, mouth-watering recipes that don’t take much time at all to prepare! No matter what time of day, you’ll find a recipe that suits your taste buds. I especially like how this book includes simple substitutes that easily turn your favorite dish into a Paleo-friendly version that is equally delicious. The bacon and spinach salad, with its variety of textures and flavors, is a must-eat! If you’re tired of water, the refreshing Energizing Green Juice is chalked full of vitamins. If you want to gets the results of diet, without the demands of a strict eating regiment, this cookbook is just the ticket!

The Paleo Diet Solution cookbook gives you healthy choices for you to choose from even with desserts and beverages, but also finding that you could make snacks for your kids in here! They have a Homemade Fruit rollups recipe, the product being nostalgic of children of the 1990s, can now make them for a snack for yourselves, friends, and family! Now, I’ve have deviled eggs before, but I never thought of putting bacon into the mixing thanks to the Deviled Eggs with Bacon recipe. I will definitely try this one and this cookbook!

The hardest thing about sticking to any diet is the lack of diversity and flexibility in the meal plan. The Paleo Cookbook does a fantastic job of adding a variety of meals to any paleo diet. Using ingredient substitution and clever cooking techniques, this book converts many modern favorites like French toast, hamburgers and cookies with paleo friendly recipes. What really sets this book apart is its large international section, offering paleo Asian, Italian, French and Mexican recipes. With over 300 recipes to choose from, The Paleo Cookbook insures that your caveman cuisine will always be as unique as it is healthy.

The Paleo Diet Solution is an excellent purchase based on the recipes alone! But of course, it really gives a lot of background information into why the diet works. I thought it was an excellent guideline to becoming more natural and organic. The diet, which is more about living natural then counting calories and eating vegetables, explains why we should be eating a high protein, low carb diet, erasing sugars and packaged foods. Our bodies can´t digest a lot of food in stores today and the solution is to get basic, but basic doesn’t boring. The book has several sections devoted to helping you choose your cuts of meat, what to look for when buying food and explains the importance of shopping locally. It´s a diet full of meat so if you’re a meat eater, definitely give it a try, and if you’re not, read the beginning and check out all the benefits that you gain from going back to your roots and eating natural. The recipes at the end are mouthwatering and make the diet seem very realistic.

This is the rare kind of cookbook I keep on hand for my daily meals. The fare ranges from wholesome and satiating to deceptively delectable, and is always healthy and filling. No nonsense in this book! Just straightforward recipes made from nutritious foods with short explanations in each section explaining the theories and practices of the Paleo Diet. Whether or not you follow the Paleo Diet, I highly recommend this cookbook for its reliably delicious and healthy recipes.

The Paleo Diet Solution Cookbook is such a great resource for people who are beginning the transition to the Paleo way of eating, like my boyfriend and I. These 300 recipes all look super delicious and easy! Actually, we know that at least one of them is, since we tried the Crunchy Pecan Chicken last night; I had to find almond meal, an ingredient I had never used before, but once I had all the ingredients, the preparation was quite simple and straightforward, producing a scrumptious result. I think we are going to try the Bison, Bacon, Lettuce, and Tomato next, and are definitely excited try out the other 299 recipes as we start our new eating adventure!

Cooking on the Paleo diet may be a challenge as we must adapt to eliminating foods we have used in our diets forever! The Paleo Diet Solution cookbook provides a wealth of information on how to cook great, inexpensive recipes for every meal of the day. Using key ingredients like fresh vegetables, organic cage free eggs, fresh herbs, along with bacon and yummy chorizo sausage, you can really cook up some delectable eats! I was surprised and encouraged to find many recipies that I was eager to try myself. The burgers, lettuce wrap, eggs salad, and quiche all looked amazing and easy to make. Most of the ingredients can be found at any local grocery store and are not typically inexpensive. Eliminating bread from one's diet can actually save you money. I adore carbs, but know that the health benefits of following the Paleo diet are endless. This cookbook provdies recipies that replace some of the traditional American favorites and they are very easy to make. I came across a recipe for scrumptious waffles. They are made with coconut flour, eggs, coconut milk, nutmeg and cinnamon and they look very tasty! I recommend this book to those of you who are still trying to find ways to cook creatively on the Paleo diet!

Can a dieter comfortably co-exist with a non-dieter? Unless they’re mutually respectful of each other’s dietary needs, it’s not uncommon for (1) the party of the first part to end up cooking two separate meals (and, thus, feel more tempted to cheat) or (2) the party of the second part to snarkily kvetch about all the food groups they’re missing. Happily, John Chatham’s “The Paleo Diet Solution Cookbook” could resolve this conundrum with its tasty collection of easy-to-fix recipes that the non-dieters in your life won’t even realize are secretly doing their hearts, stomachs, immune systems and brain cells an enormous favor. The Paleo diet – as described in wonderful detail in Chatham’s companion guide, “The Paleo Diet Solution” – has evolved from studies of what our prehistoric kith and kin were noshing on prior to the advent of agriculture 10,000 years ago. All of the ingredients of those early days – meat, fish, fruits and root vegetables – are still present and accessible to anyone looking to manage their weight, have more energy and lower the risks of cardiovascular disease, dementia and diabetes. Honestly now, do any the following entries scream out, “I’m diet food! I’m boring!” I think not. More likely, they’ll elicit a response of, “Yum. What time is dinner?” (1) Curried Steak Skewers For many people, cinnamon is a spice reserved for dessert. But for those who want to cook Indian food, it is an essential ingredient for all meat dishes. This skewer is aromatic and succulent. It is perfect accompanied by Balsamic Roasted Onions or garlicky wilted spinach. This is a combination where the nose knows. (2) Minted Pesto Chicken Stir Fry A simple and easily prepared dish, this stir fry is ideal for a quick lunch or a more elaborate dinner. Roasted baby carrots would be a colorful and complimentary side to this dish. This will be a sweet dish and can be accompanied with either chai tea or almond milk. (3) Nectarine and Onion Pork Chops This is essentially pork chops with delightful citrusy chutney. As an entrée, this will be a rich dish best accompanied by simple grilled asparagus or garlic and herbed mashed cauliflower. In this meal, contrast is important due to the strength of the pork and the tartness of the nectarines. A chilled cranberry tea would be a welcomed brew with this flavorful dish. Even beginner chefs will have no difficulty cooking these dishes to perfection the very first time.

Eating Paleo makes me feel strong and satisfied. I bought this book because I'm a big meat eater. I wish that eating bacon cheeseburgers for dinner every night would give me a great body, but I know that isn't true. The Paleo Diet Solution Cookbook is a great compromise for all you meat eaters out there who also want to attract the opposite sex. I've been making easy recipes from this book with lamb, beef, chicken galore. The breakfast and dinner recipes I've tried taste great and I know what I'm eating is healthy. This cookbook is my favorite because each recipe gives you a filling, reasonably proportioned meal with minimal preparation. Paleo fuels me up for the gym and keeps me from binge eating junk food. I usually fail at diets because I get too hungry and give up. I made the lamb meatballs with zucchini pasta for a couple friends and they were initially skeptical, but then impressed. You can feel the difference in your body when you're not hungry all the time and running on sugar. I recommend the Paleo Diet and this cookbook to anyone who wants to eat like a human, live a long life and look good.

interesting recipes, as I have been on the diet for a year and a half and needed something different. This cookbook was so disappointing. It seems the author took a handful of basic spices, garlic and onion, some meat and rearranged them in 300 different ways, gave the recipes different names and called it a cookbook. I kid you not. I even found one recipe in this book that I have been making a long time that came off the internet. Exact recipe. So disappointing.

A rose by any other name is still a rose, so a diet – such as a low carbohydrate diet – can be called many things. In this case, it’s termed the Paleo Diet. Whether you want think of yourself as eating like a caveman or cave woman, or simply eating more meat and less bread-y things, is entirely up to you. Yet with 300 recipes, for breakfast, lunch and dinner, this book will certainly keep you from eating dull meals while you diet.
