DeBarrie's Stationery Store needed help again. Somehow, the part-time people never worked out. It was a problem. more from this reviewer

    Didn't really get it...

It seemed like this had the potential to develop into a good story, but never quite made it. Not only was it hard to read because there were no quotation marks whenever anyone spoke, it was extremely anticlimactic. The banal ending made the entire story seem pointless. I just didn't understand what the author was really trying to do.

    This made me laugh

Good characters, plot, I was pulled into what I thought would be a murder mystery and found the ending a real surprise.

    Missed the Boat

All I can say is I am glad this book was free. The overall story was under developed and lacking. I could not relate to the characters at all, just as you started to get a feel for one of them, the author was on to the next one.

    A very quick read.

Not sure if it is considered a novella or a short story. Not literary genius but enjoyable. A freebie with a few typos.

    The Part Time People

I would characterize the book as a type of Alfred Hitchcock story. It has an interesting ending. I liked the book. I would read more of Tom Lichtenberg's books.

    Glad it was free.

Boy am I glad this book was free. The writing style was confusing, the author kept changing characters, it was confusing. The plot was lacking and very predictable.

    Waste of my time

This author obviously had an idea for a story, but did a very poor job of presenting it. First, the grammar was terrible. And in many reviews I have seen people complain about grammar, and thought how can it be that hard to read? I kept having to read sentences again because, with no quote marks, I couldnt tell who was saying what.

I decided to finish the story because it was only 64 pages, and figured I could stumble through the lack of punctuation. The author spent a lot of time rambling about crazy people, and then after spending all the time to set up the ending, just fumbled it completely. I barely understood what the author had chosen to do in the end!

I would not waste my time reading this again.
