Meet the Author

"Author of curiously engaging novellas. His stories are not driven by action but by mood and metaphysics. His premises often begin with fairly standard, often vaguely science-fiction concepts, but he spins those concepts out into melancholy, thoughtful tales in which he explores the emotion and (often) dislocation that people feel when confronted by something outside their normal experience." - Devon Kappa

    more from this reviewer

    Didn't really get it...

It seemed like this had the potential to develop into a good story, but never quite made it. Not only was it hard to read because there were no quotation marks whenever anyone spoke, it was extremely anticlimactic. The banal ending made the entire story seem pointless. I just didn't understand what the author was really trying to do.

    Quirky

An offbeat type of story. It is a look at the owners of a stationary store, and the new part time employee David. It is interesting and has you wondering where it is going. A pleasant change of pace from a lot of fiction these days.

Unique concept. Interesting offbeat characters. Ending with a twist. Not the run of the mill fluff.

    This made me laugh

Good characters, plot, I was pulled into what I thought would be a murder mystery and found the ending a real surprise.

    Missed the Boat

All I can say is I am glad this book was free. The overall story was under developed and lacking. I could not relate to the characters at all, just as you started to get a feel for one of them, the author was on to the next one.

    A very quick read.

Not sure if it is considered a novella or a short story. Not literary genius but enjoyable. A freebie with a few typos.

    The Part Time People

I would characterize the book as a type of Alfred Hitchcock story. It has an interesting ending. I liked the book. I would read more of Tom Lichtenberg's books.

    Glad it was free.

Boy am I glad this book was free. The writing style was confusing, the author kept changing characters, it was confusing. The plot was lacking and very predictable.

    Not sure

The author made some interesting characters but we never get the chance to get to know them, only snippets. It was an interesting concept for a story but missed the mark I think. Plus the ending was so sudden, I was expecting a better end.

    Dont bother

I have no clue what the point of this book was. It was free, thanks B@N. But I should have read something like the dictionary. Maybe the point was just way over my head. I cant wait to get reviews from people who understood it.
