The Patricians, A Genealogical Study
I started building my family tree with the very basic relationships, going back in time from my grandparents, one ancestor at a time. Today, The Patricians! tree (Ancestry.com) contains nearly 122,000 individuals, stretching over 135 generations, 5,800 of which are my direct ancestors in a genealogical sense (see MyHeritage Direct Ancestors report).
During this trek back in time, I encountered fascinating figures in both history and obscurity. This blog contains many stories about their genealogical relationship to me (and many of you). By far and away, as a student of history, the historically obscure individuals are of particular interest to me. I cite Baron "Blue Beard" Montmorency-Laval de Rais (1405 - 1440) as an example of a historically maligned personage whose real contribution to history, as both a playwright and hero of France, has yet to be properly recognized.
My main purpose in developing this study and The Patricians blog remains to provide interesting information about our ancestors in the context of their genealogical relationships to one another. Therein lies the fascinating part of history, at least for me. For instance, the Historically Noted Poets, Authors, Playwrights, and Publishers blog post reveals a subtle, but unmistakable pattern of ancestral relationships between renowned writers and publishers.
From the inception of my work on my Goodreads Authors Blog, entitled The Patricians, I always endeavored to develop a story along with the presentation of my genealogical research findings on historical characters I found especially compelling in one way or another.
A valuable reference guide for both professional and amateur genealogists as well as historians.
Representing the compilation of over a decade's worth genealogical research data and related blog articles, the ebook content includes:
-Table of Contents: 200 WordPress-linked articles featuring ancestors of historical interest (example, William The Conqueror (1028 - 1087) 6th Duke of Normandy, 1st Norman King of England). Ancestry.com, related, and lineage citations presented in each and every blog article.
-Roster of All Ancestors Studied (661)
-Presentation of research findings, including Ancestry.com and lineage citations (1,038 pages of data)
Due to the massive size of the original PDF version (145.7 MB, over 5,000 pages), an internet-linked version was developed, mainly because creating an ePub for this publication proved so problematic to develop as to represent an exercise in futility (exceptionally complicated file to say the least).
The Table of Contents section presents links to individual WordPress blog articles listed. The Facebook page link at the end provides access to new and updated articles, post-publication of this volume (questions or other concerns about this publication can be registered there).
Following the TOC, a list provides Google Drive download links to study and research exhibits, including one for the original The Patricians Goodreads Authors Blog .
