As with all the books, this one has a dictionary of name meanings. It does go above and beyond with pronunciation, famous people with those names and lots of cute and inspiring quotes. The absolute best part of the book though, is the exercises. You are given a process of games to go through to create a long list of names and then the author moves you through a process of elimination--keeping dad involved throughout. We really had fun with this book and I would use it again if we have another baby. I did find a name that felt meaningful and the book gave me a little story to share about her name when she grows up.
I got this from my library and it saved my life while I was writing stories. This might be the only decent baby names book out there though, so be sure to buy this one. Worth more mone than you pay for it.
Trying to get my parents to buy it. I checked this book out from our local library and loved it. It has a wide variety of names, their meanings and etc. I love this book!!!!
Great idea... Horrible with information. I couldn't find even common names or my favorite names in the book and felt that the list of names given were mostly weird, too exotic, or didn't have the best variations, spellings, or even all the meanings of a name. Way more research should have been involved.
those names aint perfect grl!
I found this book to be fun and inspirational! I went through all of the exercises and found what we consider a perfect boy and girl name. I highly recommend this book to expecting couples who are struggling to find a meaningful name for their baby. F.F.
