The Perfect Christmas Gift

Editorial Reviews

Bear is eagerly looking forward to Christmas because he has found the perfect present for his friend, Duck--an adjustable stool. It is perfect--so perfect, in fact, that Duck has already gone out and purchased one for herself. So Bear returns the stool and buys a bike, also a terrific surprise--until Duck sees it in the closet. Once more, Bear has to pick out a present, though this time the choice isn't quite so ideal: Bear gets Duck an apple picker, only to find Duck's apple tree blew down in a storm. Bear is heartbroken until Duck assures him that spending their holiday together is the nicest gift of all; and as they think about it, they realize that the apple picker will do very well as a tomato picker--just the gift Duck has been needing. Although there are no surprises here, this a satisfying story with nicely executed, cheerful pictures that capture the gaiety of the season.
