About the Author

Gaston Louis Alfred Leroux (1868-1927) was a French journalist and writer of detective fiction. He began his career in Journalism in the 1890s, reporting on a number of significant events including the Russian Revolution of 1905. In 1907, Leroux left journalism and began writing detective stories. He is best known in the English-speaking world for THE PHANTON OF THE OPERA, which has been remade into several successful film and musical versions, including the longest-running musical in Broadway history.
