Are you a web designer working in Photoshop? If you have, then this book is for you! Author Corrie Haffly, has done an outstanding job of writing a second edition of a book that is a resource for web designers who want to use Photoshop to create better-looking web graphics. Haffly, begins with an overview of how to get around Photoshop. Next, the author covers some of the basic tasks that Photoshop users should master, such as resizing and rotating documents and layers, working with masks, creating curves and custom shapes, working with transparent images, and more. Next, she describes solutions for creating button effects. Then, the author shows you a stack of solutions for creating seamlessly repeating backgrounds, realistic textures and more. She continues by showing you how to do simple tasks, like adjusting the space between lines and letters. Next, the author explores the many features that Photoshop provides for adjusting images. She then shows you how to create your own web graphic effects using existing images; for example, adding scanlines to an image, creating reflections, and cutting out objects from a photo. The author continues by covering the concepts and techniques that are used to create website comps (mockup layouts) in Photoshop. Finally, she covers some more advanced topics such as task automation, bath processing and animation. This most excellent book is primarily for web designers, and covers only some of the basic and intermediate tasks related to photo adjustments and retouching. More importantly, this book will help you build the skills and knowledge needed to become confident using Photoshop to create web graphics.
