Overview

Although, "The Pinkley Clan and their God-called Preacher Man" is a family history of early pioneers in Southwest, Missouri, principally Dallas County, it is a book that takes a look back into a worship and salvation plan far different than the religious world and Baptists practice today. The United/Missionary Baptists brought their VA. East TN. N.C. "worship of experimental religion" to Southwest Missouri in 1840, when ancestors and Baptist friends of the present day Pinkly Clan, some whom had been jailed for preaching the word contrary to Virginia law-fought in the Revolutionary war primarily for religious freedom. D.R. Murphy nephew of the Murphy boys who were baptized by Shubal Stearns, a Separate Baptist removed to SWMO and D.R. was instrumental in establishing early churches in the area. East TN Dill Brothers and NC & East TN Gann 'Clan of Dallas County Mo are featured with the Pinkley God-called preachers. Six generation of the Pinkley clan cover 145 years taking their stand behind the pulpits of Southwest Missouri and preaching the word in power and Spirit upholding the "old path" of an experimental know-so salvation experience of God. They have never embraced the easy believeism "accept Christ" salvation plan or affiliated with the SBC.
