Meet the Author

A toy castle is what sent fantasy author Paul Genesse (juh-NESS, like finesse) over the edge and into madness. Dragons and castles gave him reason to live from elementary school through college where he loved his English classes, but pursued his other passion by earning a bachelor’s degree in nursing science in 1996. He is a registered nurse on a cardiac unit in Salt Lake City, Utah, where he works the night shift keeping the forces of darkness away from his patients.
Paul lives with his incredibly supportive wife, Tammy, and their collection of well-behaved frogs and moderately scary dragons. He is the author of several short stories featured in Fellowship Fantastic, The Dimension Next Door, Furry Fantastic, Imaginary Friends, Catopolis, Terribly Twisted Tales, Pirates of the Blue Kingdoms—where this Pirate Witch story first appeared, Steampunk’d and more. He is also the editor and the co-author of the origin story for The Crimson Pact anthology series. His first novel, The Golden Cord, Book One of the Iron Dragon Series has become the bestselling book his publisher, Five Star Books has ever had. Book two, The Dragon Hunters is out and more novels are on the way. In his spare time he has worked as a writing instructor/motivational speaker, computer game consultant, copyeditor, and as a proofreader for a small press publisher. Listen to podcasts, or watch videos about the Iron Dragon Series and his other works at www.paulgenesse.com.

Look for the next story about Maeve Tierney in the direct sequel, The Queen’s Ransom, and then read Captain Maeve.
