When his daughter discovers the iceman, archaeologist J.S. What a clever introduction to archaeology and Stone Age man! When a modern-day archaeologist and his daughter discover the nine-thousand-year-old body of a young man buried in the melting ice of his latest dig, they also disturb a ghost named Broddy Brodson, who narrates the rest of the book. Broddy was a friend of Arf, the Ice Man. Arf was a member of a group of adolescents, the Pits, who fought the group called the Axes. When most of the clan decided to move over the mountain, somehow Arf decides to stay. Arf was a dork (sic), and the only reason Broddy is still around is to tell the story. Which he does, somehow, on the computer, but only the Archaeologist's daughter reads it. Maybe because she, too, is young, she understands what life was really like for the Ice Man and his friends.
