Overview

From the mind of M. Scott Burgess comes the second episode of an episodic book-series that reimagines and redefines the zombie apocalypse genre.

In the near future, the world has died. With no warning, technology and communication shut down and the dead began to rise. They feed on their victims, pulling more to their ranks as they spread at an impossible rate. But hope survives, as a small band of survivors work together to escape from Southern California in hopes of finding sanctuary from a zombie- infested world. Their goal is to find some remnants of civilization but the farther they venture, the more they become aware that the world as they know it has been forever broken. What they don’t realize is, there are things hiding in the shadows, things that are even far worse than the living dead.

Zombie Sickenss is the second chapter of the 14 part series. It follows the story of Kai Ward, an EMT who witnesses the outbreak firsthand and picks up where Dean's story left off in Dead Solstice. (20,495 words)

Just finished reading part 5 of the series. I read 1-5 and they were all fairly short. The longest being less than 250 pages. They can each be read as a stand alone novelette but it makes more sense when you read them in order. There were a few spelling and grammatical errors but otherwise decent reads. Personally i would have liked to see the series combined into a full length novel. I think the story would have flowed together much better.

Wow I love these books !! I read all 5 in about 3 days and can not wait for the rest . This story really pulls you in and you get to know the people in it very well . It has a lot of action and almost mystery to it and once I started reading them I could not put them down . I love the fact that they make some hard choices that if in this situtation we all would have to make . If you love zombie books then pick this series up , I'm sure you won't be dissappointed .

I want to start by saying that I found the other review not helpful at all. It looks like an advertisement for another book than an actually review. Seriously this book is a great fast-paced story that leaves you wanting more. As far as zombie books go, it's definitely one of the better ones. After reading the first, I was sucked into the series, and was excited to see that it actually gets better with each book. each one has great action and great characters and really great twists. True, I did find a few grammar errors along the way, but serious, it's self-published, of course there are going to be a few errors. Hurry up and release episode 6 Burgess!

>>I really enjoyed this series! The characters are well developed and likeable. The story keeps moving with fast paced action. It is interesting and suspenseful. Read them in order to avoid spoilers. All five stories were a geat read! The only thing I was not crazy about were some of the flash back chapters, a few were just not needed- or could have been done with a page or two...I just wanted to get back to the 'present' where the action was. I will definately read more by this author!

Absolutely outstanding. I consider myself a tough critic when it comes to all things Zombie, the author has done wonders to keep the classic tale alive. Off to buy the rest of this series.

Excellent series, feels very real. Would have given it five stars but its not as descriptive and gory as it should be for a zombie book.
