Kresley Cole is one of my favorite authors and this remains true. The love scenes were very steamy and the chemistry was on point. Light BDSM that won't bother those who aren't really into that sort of thing. These characters were a little more adventurous in other ways which was fun. While the character development was there and fresh it was just barley, this book felt rushed. Maybe I don't want her books to end. The loose ends were all tied up, it was just all done in one fell swoop in a few short paragraphs. It just isn't realistic for major problems to be resolved like that. I love a good fairy tale but I also like to relate.

I read the other reviews and initially hesitated buying the book. But I have always loved a Kresley Cole story, and this was no exception! I liked the twist and the ending and the characters.

The Professional & The Master are AMAZING beyond words! Two books anyone would be nothing short of insane to miss. Those two books have it ALL ... I'm talk'n The Complete Package. So of course I did what any hot blooded female would do, I pre-ordered The Player, marked my calendar and anxiously counted down the days ... And it KILLS me to advise you to skip it Completely. The Player lacks everything the first two in the series. ... that rare mind blowing punch!

Reviewed by Francesca and posted at Under The Covers Book Blog So, we come to the final Sevastyan sibling, Dmitri; the mysterious youngest brother of the trio, the brother we have heard about, yet never seen, was he worth waiting two books for? Hell. Yeah. In The Player sets eyes on Victioria “Vice” Valentine and, like his brothers before him, and knows she is his. However, Vice is a con artist from a family of con artists who is in a spot of trouble. Her only way out? Get a big score, and Dmitri seems like a prime target only she gets more than she bargains for. After all, the last thing she should do is fall in love with him. Someone get me an ice bucket and a fan! I need it after reading The Player, Kresley Cole has made the third book in The Game Maker the sexiest one to date, I’m pretty sure Dmitri and Vice overheated my poor kindle…or maybe they just overheated poor me. I feel sorry for the next guy with a Russian accent that I hear, ‘cos there’s a fair chance he is going to be jumped. I fully expect Cole to get me the bail money, after all it’s all her fault. The Player has to be my favourite in this series, it has the perfect mix of humour, romance and scorching hot sex, all of which Cole is fantastic is writing and in this book came together really well. This is nothing new and the book was written very much in Cole’s style, yet with Dmitri she has created a hero who was both incredibly vulnerable and undoubtedly lethal and his pursuit of Vice was both beautifully tender and crazy aggressive and this very contradictory blend of features and actions made him irresistible. I’ve already mentioned how hot the sex was between them, but it bears repeating, the chemistry between them was fantastic, they sizzled together right from the very start. All of which led to some incredibly delicious scenes between them, scenes that were more than just body part a inserts to body part b, it was sexy not only because what they were doing, but because they were with eachother. This is such a great book, my favourite in the series although, but if you haven’t started The Game Maker series yet it reads well as a standalone; it isn’t necessary to have read the previous books to understand what is happening. If you want something sexy and funny then I highly recommend you pick this up, it is one of my favourite reads of the year so far!

I questioned how Victoria was through out the book. Some things just made me internally roll my eyes several times. Good book though

He was too good to be true. A grifter’s dream, but like they say, anything too good to be true, probably isn’t. Welcome to Vegas, where anything can and does happen, where con artists ply their trade and loan sharks troll the streets. Two broken souls find each other amid the lights, the bling and the lies-lies and secrets that go back decades, or even just a year, they are there, buried gut deep and are all that stand between the desperately needed love and acceptance. Vice has been running cons her whole life, it’s the family business and Dmitri, the unusual Russian billionaire was her target. Has she bitten off more than she can chew? Dmitri is mysterious, dark and seems to keep himself separate from the moment, but why? Their passion is intense, their need to be wanted is raw, but Vice must try to play the game, for her family, but marriage was never in the cards until Dmitri made an offer she couldn’t refuse and she found herself falling in love, biggest mistake of her game. No man has ever dominated her, but Dmitri is a master to her seductress until it is clear the hunter has been captured by the game. Could there be more to Dmitri, the genius who cares little for money? Is he so damaged he feels he needs to ensure her love and fidelity by opening his wallet to make her happy? Has Vice grown a conscience and a heart filled with love? Kresley Cole is at the top of her “Game” with The Player as the passion ignites, the lies and secrets are like searing hot pokers and two people, raw with need and desire find the ultimate con may also be the ultimate dream come true. Pass the smelling salts, get me a fan and grab the fire extinguisher, Kresley Cole has done it again! Under her sensual pen, what could have been smoldering hot carnal sex has become an expression of the depths of passion and love expressed in its truest form. Leave your blush at the door, as romance trumps all, mind, body and soul and the healing begins for Vice and Dmitri with an emotion that even money can’t buy. I received an ARC edition from Kresley Cole in exchange for my honest review.

What’s better than a story about a wounded soul finding their other half…two wounded souls. Sensuality oozes off the pages in the hot as heck erotic romance by Kresley Cole. Victoria Valentine and her family are top notch con-artists (grifter). When her family is threatened by a cartel, Victoria (aka Vice) must find a con that will pay out enough to save her father from ruthless torture and death. The clock is ticking. When Vice sets her sights on Dmitri Sevastyan, even her family was sure she’d fail. But he is taken hook, line and sinker. Pushed into a quick marriage, the couple secrets are slowly revealed. The more they learn about each other the harder it is for Vice to remember this is just a job. Dmitri was everything you could ask for, brooding, intense, completely devoted, and emotionally scarred all wrapped up in an insanely hot as heck package. Absolutely amazing twist and turns, Cole creates a story that sticks with you long after your through. Although this is the last of the Sevastyan brothers story, I wouldn’t be opposed to further stories following these characters or maybe expanding to the grifters? I received this ARC copy of The Player from Kresley Cole in exchange for a honest review.

It's Kresley Cole. It's going to be awesome. And it is.....And it isn't. Toooo much modern lingo. I wanted to read Kresley's book, not stay on Urban pedia. I spent so much of the beginning of the book lost. The only reason that I kept reading....It's Kresley Cole. Also, there was so much time waiting on this book, I had forgotten the back story. I didn't really remember it until Dmitri was telling about himself. Solution: either give more back story sooner or, better yet, write faster. Honestly, for me, this wasn't even light BDSM. Hot? Yes, very. BDSM? Sadly, no. Overall, 3 1/2 stars. I don't regret buying it or reading it. Could it have been better and am I disappointed? Yeah.

The con, the hustle, the sham or the scheme. Whatever you may call it, just know this… the game is afoot my friends. One of the most deliciously captivating reads I have had the pleasure of reading this year. I am left in a bit of a quandary here. How to write a spoiler free review yet, leave a review to do this read Justus. A sexy Russian and the con lady heat things up in Vegas. Only she’s not that great of a con artist and he’s well… running a game of his own. His “Vice” is an obsession and she has to do what needs to be done for her family. What culminates is a wild ride of a grifter with nothing to lose and a man with everything to lose. Hot, sexy, flirty, and deliciously fun. I can’t recommend this enough. 5 Stars!

The third installment of The Game Maker Series follows the youngest brother Dmitri, who isn’t all together sane.  His complete and total obsession with Victoria would be freighting in any other circumstances; yet, make him a billionaire, her a con artist and she is going to put up with his crazy, because she need his money.    “I’d rather have an honest madman than a sane liar.” Victoria struggles with the con from the beginning.  She starts to have feelings for Dmitri almost immediately, and her conscious is working against her.  She doesn’t want to con him; yet, her family has got themselves into such a bad situation to the point to where they have no other choice.  She has to go through with it; no matter what. This series has been incredibly erotic, and The Player is not exception to that.   The sex scenes are downright panty melting.  Out of all three books this has been my least favorite, but not by much.  I am still giving it 4 Boundless stars.  I just like the other two more....Sara

The Player is book three in The Game Maker series. I adore this series, so this book was a must-read for me. The series revolves around three brothers, each finding love and telling their stories. In The Player, we have the youngest of the Sevastyan brothers, the one I've been intrigued by the entire time. Dmitri Sevastyan was portrayed in the previous books as a man with many issues. Mental issues from a bad childhood experience and some other things. Characters like that draw me in to see how much their character will grow throughout the story. I wasn't let down, I loved seeing Dmitri and Vice together. I'm getting ahead of myself, though. The book opens with the whole Sevastyan family and their wives out partying in Vegas. We meet Victoria Valentine aka Vice who is a con artist trying to find a mark. With several potential marks off the table, Vice sets her sights on Dmitri Sevastyan and is surprised when he seems enthralled by her. So Vice and her family of con artists decide how to proceed, and they decide that Vice should lead him along until he showers her with gifts that she can sell. Things don't go quite as planned when Dmitri and Vice get married and Vice is growing feelings for the man she's supposed to be conning. I enjoy the whole ulterior movie stories in romance, it's always interesting to see what will happen when the person starts growing feelings for the other. I wasn't a huge fan of Vice's family, but it was necessary to add them in to give more depth to her character. I'm glad Dmitri whisked her away quickly and the story didn't have a ton of them. This series is addicting, and I highly suggest it if you're looking for a naughty read.

I absolutely, positively loved and enjoyed the outstanding and intriguing, amazing, romantic novel by the wonderfully, talented Kresley Cole. Victoria Valentine comes from a family of con artists and has set her sights on the elusive Russian billionaire, Dmitri Sevastyan. Dmitri's attraction to Victoria leads both of them to intimacy and a relationship. As Victoria's feelings for Dmitri deepen, she doesn't want Dmitri to find out about her past. Meanwhile, Dmitri realizes that he needs to share some secrets with Victoria but feels apprehensive. Read the highly recommended, beautifully written, must read, erotic love story of Victoria and Dmitri.

The Player was ok, but not as good as the first two books. I was really hoping for more. It seemed like this book was rushed...it fell flat in more ways than one.
