Library Journal - Library Journal
The variety of colorful creations that can be made with polymer clay seems endless, and successful results can be had with any level of expertise. These two books explore advanced techniques and artistic design. Well illustrated with works by polymer clay artists, they include projects for intricately pieced and shaped jewelry and art objects. The Polymer Clay Technique Book, in particular, has detailed step-by-step instructions for many techniques such as marbling, cutting, and making millefiori canes. Both are good additions to arts and crafts collections. Copyright 2000 Cahners Business Information.\

My daughter (age 12) needed to do a months worth of Poly clay for school. This book looked difficult at first glance but after sitting down with it she was able to make some truly beautiful pieces and she had a blast with it. We shared it with her Girl Scout leader and soon all the girls were making store quality pieces! A must have for Poly Clay fans :)

This book is a must for beginners, or even people who are just curious about it. I couldn't put it down. The colorful descriptive pages inspired me to work with clay and I absolutely love it. It's hard to get all the housework and errands done so I can PLAY !!

I love this book because it's teaching you techniques while walking you through an example. So once you know how to use the technique you're welcome to use this to make your very own creations. There are some things like making livelike people and animals that could use more detail, but there's enough in here for a summary book. If you want to know details you'd probably want to get a book just on that topic.

The books pictures were excellent and everything was explained very clearly. The layout is very easy to read. I'm a beginner using clay but I can't wait to get started using some of the techniques. I had no idea clay could be used in so many ways. An excellent reference book for crafters.

As a beginner in Polymer Clay, this book helped me get started. There are examples of what you can do with Polymer Clay. It is addictive. The descriptions of types of clay are in the back for reference. I have alot to learn but have already made several items that are keepers. (can't say much for the characters I tried to make!) Good book for beginners as well as advancing your skills.

From the moment I opened this book I could not set it down again until I had gone over each and every page! It is filled with wonderous examples of what can be accomplished with polymer clay. Almost every page shows yet another easy-to-follow technique and a project to try it out on. There is so much helpful information on tools, methods, clays, and so on that it is pure joy to read this book, let alone to work with it. This would be a great book for everyone, beginners and beyond. My thanks to Sue Heaser for a wonderful book!
