Overview

The Power of Positive Phynque-ing, Autobiography of an Absolute Nobody, is the inspiring and very funny life story of Gary C. Fink, founder and chairman of Phynque Inc. (pronounced “Fink Inc.”). As an only child of somewhat functional parents growing up in New York City during the 1930’s and 40’s, Gary started his career as an absolute nobody, but went on to shatter not only the traditional image of insurance salesmen, but also most of the modern day sales records in the life insurance industry. So still you may ask, “Who is Gary Fink?” Most accurately, he is a Renaissance Man: Comedian, Worldwide Animal Conservationist, Philanthropist, International Children’s Advocate, Dixieland Drummer, Patron of the Arts and Salesman Extraordinaire. Using brains, humor, tenacity and a one-of-a-kind personal style, the man who was once considered the “Antichrist” of the insurance industry became the all-time leading salesman for the Prudential Life Insurance Company. Gary’s career accomplishments are impressive, but, the impact that he has had on the countless numbers of people in his life, is incredible. Few individuals have a life story that is filled with as much humor and passion as you will find in The Power of Positive Phynque-ing.

Meet the Author

Gary C. Fink was born on March 24, 1935 in New York City, NY. After attending public school through junior high, Gary completed high school at Stuyvesant in lower Manhattan. In 1952, Gary enrolled at the University of Wisconsin where he was graduated in 1957, with a degree in Russian History. After a brief, less than glorious, military career, he went to work for the Prudential Life Insurance Company. February 10, 1958, as an inexperienced insurance novice with very few friends or contacts in the Minneapolis, MN area, Gary Fink set out on his quest to become the best insurance salesman in the business. Over the next 43 years, using a combination of creativity, tenacity, brilliance and humor, Gary Fink became the #1 Producer in the 130 year history of the Prudential Life Insurance Company, and received their prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award. Gary has taken his career success and generously internationally supported the helpless and the hopeless… especially causes which aid children and animals. To describe Gary Fink is to describe a true Renaissance Man: Comedian, Worldwide Animal Conservationist, Philanthropist, International Chidren’s Advocate, Dixieland Drummer, Patron of the Arts and Saleman Extraordinaire. Today, at age 77, Gary continues to enjoy his family and life with his beautiful wife, JoAnn, in their home in the Minneapolis, MN area.
