The Pre-Trib Challenge [NOOK Book]

Overview

There is a very common Christian teaching about when the Rapture of the Church happens, named “Pre-Trib.”

The “Rapture” is an event involving believers being caught up (i.e., “Raptured”) from the Earth and being gathered to Jesus, spoken of in the New Testament in 1 Thessalonians:

1Thes 4:17 Then we who are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And ...

And thus we shall always be with the Lord.

Other Scriptures refer to that event as well. There doesn’t seem to be much discussion about whether the event will happen. The real differences of opinion is regarding when it happens.

The Pre-Trib Challenge examines the most common arguments in support of the Pre-Tribulation Rapture of the Church.

Meet the Author

As a Bible study leader for two decades, I was well-taught the pre-tribulation rapture of the church. Believing in the Pre-Tribulation Rapture in my church was nearly mandatory - almost as foundational a doctrine as the Deity of Jesus. After being confronted to defend that position by a very kind Christian friend, I discovered that my pre-trib position didn't have a strong basis in Scripture. Not only that, but I found that I really didn't have a good handle on the terminology of the end times. Although I mostly deal in writing books to help people read and understand the Bible, I have recently embarked on writing a series of books that describe what might happen to the large body of "pre-tribbers" in the event that the Rapture happens after that time. The series also explores the possibility that the very Pre-Trib belief (and all that goes along with it) might actually be the springboard to usher in the end of the world.Regarding the timing of the Rapture, I now teach what I believe: that you should be prepared because no one knows when that event will happen.

    Pretty good argument

I am a former pretribber whose mind was changed after not being able to answer some simple questions about Matt 24. I then delved into the scriptures myself and found the pretrib argument lacking. This book makes some good arguments against the pretrib view but I couldnt give it 5 stars because some of the most convincing arguments are not in this book. Also the author states that the pretrib, midtrib, and post trib views all agree that the church will not suffer the wrath of God, but he does not explain this sufficiently in my opinion.

I'm a pre-trib man myself, so this was an interesting read. I was skeptical at first, but as I read the book, Anderson made several good points. None of them were challenging enough to make me change my mind, but that's what good debate is about. It is a very simple, straightforward, respectful look at the issue of the rapture. Get a copy and read it!
