Overview

If you’ve been diagnosed with prediabetes, you are by no means alone. 79 million Americans share this diagnosis, and the numbers only seem to be rising. And while we’ve all heard that a healthy diet and exercise can help reverse this disorder, there may be other factors at play in your prediabetes—namely, toxins.

Numerous studies have shown that there is a direct link between toxins in our food and type 2 diabetes. In The Prediabetes Detox, primary care physician and naturopathic doctor Sarah Cimperman will show you how to reverse prediabetes by eliminating unwanted toxins from your diet and home. You will learn to balance your blood sugar levels, increase your energy, and end your unhealthy cravings once and for all using a safe, effective at-home cleansing program that is both practical and manageable.

By disrupting hormones, altering cells in the pancreas, and interfering with energy production, toxins can cause insulin resistance, fat accumulation, and high blood sugar associated with pre-diabetes. Using the detox regimen and recipes outlined in this book, you will start feeling healthier, have more energy, and stay firmly on the path to conquering this ubiquitous disease.

Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher
“A fascinating book by Sarah Cimperman! Diabetes is certainly an epidemic of mass proportions that hasn't been properly prevented. She provides sound evidence to support why detoxing and using nutritional supplements can help ward off harmful complications of diabetes. Her book guides you through easy-to-follow steps to improved health.”
—Jessica Black, ND, best-selling author of The Anti-Inflammation Diet and Recipe Book

“I’m a big believer in healthy eating and detoxification, and I agree with what Cimperman has to say about it in her new book, The Prediabetes Detox. I like her emphasis on healthy fats, and not just from fish, but also avocados, raw nuts, and coconuts. Fat has gotten a lot of bad press, but healthy fats support a healthy brain, beautify the skin, and are building blocks for vital hormones.”
Eric R. Braverman, MD, director of the PATH Medical Center and PATH Foundation

“Cimperman has written a reliable, informative, and easy-to-follow guide for managing prediabetes. It is a beautifully written work that provides readers with a practical program of action and sound advice. The Prediabetes Detox is a must-read for anyone interested in improving their health and preventing diabetes. I am pleased to recommend this book.”
Marianne Marchese, ND, author of 8 Weeks to Women’s Wellness

“I diagnose prediabetes regularly in my practice and usually have fifteen minutes to explain lifestyle changes. I welcome Cimperman's book because it gives detailed recommendations on how to make these lifestyle changes. Cimperman uses evidence-based advice that initially may seem difficult but ultimately empowers patients to take charge of their health by making lifelong changes that will truly reverse disease and improve overall well-being.”
Joyce Qaqundah, MD, family medicine physician, San Diego, CA
