Overview

Reading to a child can provide some of the truly pleasurable and rewarding moments in life for parents and grandparents. E-book readers let you keep a treasury on hand to instantly satisfy a young one’s need for a story.

THE PRINCESS AND THE PEA SHOOTER AND OTHER SILLY FAIRY TALES will delight kids and adults both. The stories, by acclaimed children’s book author Luke Hayes, take the elements of familiar fairy tales and scramble them in ways that are both funny and enjoyable. In “Little Red Riding Hoodlum” it’s the wolf who’s going to visit his granny and the little girl, complete with motorcycle, who menaces him.

Kids will laugh at other stories, like the tale of “The Ugly Ducky,” who ends up in a carnival Duck Pond. Or the one about the Princess, where she ends up under the mattresses instead of on top. The final story, about the snowman who fell in love with a pot-bellied stove, is both romantic and poignant.

These wonderful tales will delight kids over and over.
