    Beautiful, Excellent Research/Cookbook

Excellent research/cookbook. Color pictures, descriptions of all veggies, herbs, fruits. I like it because I get the foods origin, history, varieties, how to tell if it's ripe, how to store, cut, typical cooking techniques, a few recipes each and much more- all on one or two pages. It is VERY easy to read (cohesive and graphically) and understand. They don't bore you with long descriptions, they are precise, informative and to the point. This is the most used book in my kitchen. I even bring it with me to the Farmers Market to help me pick ripe foods and give me inspirational recipes to use on foods I'm not familiar with but want to try.<BR/>Only downside IMHO is the Index in the back does not list the exact page the item's section starts on. ie: APPLES page 24. Instead it gives you pages that the recipes are on, which may be a couple page away form the first page in it's section.
