    Promise Remains

In what is obviously an autobiographical novella, Thrasher spends most of the book gloating over Ethan's physical features and his 'diamond in the rough' personality. The predictable 'climax' wherein the character that represents the author and the character that represents the author's wife finally realize they are right for each other is just as hackneyed as it sounds. I bought this book hoping to break into this field myself, but after reading this, I'm not willing to stoop this low. Should have been a paperback.

    "Promise..." is Ultimately Disappointing

I bought this book thinking it would be a classic "boy meets girl, boy loses girl, boy gets girl" story, but was disappointed by the characters. I found the characters to be too "generation x" for me; too caught up in their own selfishness for me to root for them.

    Promise Remains

I thought this book was a good first effort from the author. It deals with themes covered by many other books, but it is set in the mountains of North Carolina (my favorite place on earth!) and it is for this reason that I enjoyed this book. A quick read, too!

I can't stop thinking about this book!

I really enjoyed The Promise Remains. The characters are very endearing and well-developed. I didn't want it to end and hope that Mr.Thrasher will continue the story of Ethan and Sara. This is a great, short read that can be finished in a day!

    A wonderful Book!!!

I read quite a bit and this one is fantastic! It reminds me of a Nicholas Sparks book, and I also just finished The Rescue and liked this book much better! It shows you can have a wonderful book in 2001 without profanity, premarital sex, and violence. Even young adults can read this one and it would be a great gift. This author is a favorite and I can't wait for the next one! Who says being a Christian is boring!

Predictable and Syrupy, but with a redeeming plot.

This book was predictable from the opening prolouge. You know in the end, that everything will work out. It is difficult to get past the Christian cliches at the beginning and throughout. It ruins the book; making it so syrupy. It makes one almost want to vomit. The plot is excellent though.

    A Great Read!

Travis Thrasher did a good job writing this book. It has the classic romance in it that we all enjoy, but is not entirely predictable, which spurs you onto the ending (I was enjoying it so much, I finished it the same night I started!) Mr. Thrasher also didn't go into a lot of details about the religion of his characters (just the fact they were believers in God and Christ), so you'll enjoy this book whether your baptist, catholic, Christian, etc. For anyone who wants to read a good religious novel, but doesn't want to read anything hoaky.
