Overview

Nadine Stefano is a high flying career woman. Her life focus is about reaching her career goals and she has set herself certain milestones to reach at different stages of her life. None of which include love.
As far as Nadine is concerned, there is no time for relationships and, having been recently promoted at work, she wants to make a good impression on her boss.
At her sister's bachelorette party Nadine meets the gorgeous Ethan, who is one of the dance troupe performers. Despite her heavy workload that evening, Nadine finds herself strangely attracted to this handsome young man who oozes sex appeal by the gallon.
A few weeks later the company Nadine works for are holding their annual convention at a luxury hotel away from home. Not having a date to take with her, and wanting to present the image of a settled and happy woman in a relationship, Nadine resorts to calling the dance troupe in order to ask if Ethan will accompany her and pretend to be her boyfriend for the weekend event.
When Ethan agrees, Nadine finds herself drawn towards Ethan in a way she never imagined. Their attraction for one another is electric and Nadine’s world is changed forever once Ethan struts into her life.

Nothing is easy though what with company politics and devious characters that stand in their way.
Will their meeting lead to love, despite seemingly different career choices, or will Nadine dump Ethan in order to pursue her career goals?

    Terrible!

Book is supposedly set in California, but you won't know it from the first chapter as everyone speaks in British slang. I thought it was in London. Author also thinks San Francisco and LA are right next to each other instead of 500 -600 miles apart, and seems to have never been to either.

Don't think author has had a real job or real relationship either, just read a lot of romance novels. Plot is beyond cliche.

Author should try again when she's out of "University", had a boyfriend, and gotten a passport. Or maybe switch to teenage English romance.

    Verdict: not even worth free.

    Just okay

Not terribly well written, but passable. Completely predictable, even for a romance novel. Not recommendable, but it was free, so I dont feel like I lost anything but an hour of my time.

    Needs some work

Overall this was a good, quick-read. Wouldn't mind reading the "upcoming" prequel and sequel, but like another reviewer, I had a problem with the blatantly British dialogue - at least make the character a tranplant, it would mske SOOOO much more sense.

    "A" For Effort

Always appreciate a free read but being free is almost all this little story had going for it! The book read as if it was written by a very young immature individual. The characters were all over the place, one minute flirty and sexy, the next innocent and chaste. The story line was chaotic, shallow and predictable. The dialog between the characters was stiff and uncomfortable. It was akin to a first draft that needed a LOT of editing and fleshing out! I read the previews of the related books and they appeared to be much the same. All that said, I wish the author the best.

This book was just meh. Both the male and female leads are poorl

This book was just meh. Both the male and female leads are poorly developed. Their diolaogue is forced and unnatural as well as the way both of them handle life. The writing is stilted and lacks imagination or a feeling of reality. I bought it because it was free, but even then I wouldnt really waste the time.

    Fun read

Great story ... the only downfall i find is how this book ends ...i know other books were written as prequells but this should have been made as a finished book and possibly a continuence to there story if need be .... unsatissfied with the ending big time

    Interesting..truly fascinating!

Though the story id well written and gives incite intl both the characters views on eacb other it is rushed and is an already told story...ive read something similar on numerous occasions...pardon my spelling...and ive seen it in many movies. I just dont think that this is original but i like it enough to want to read the sequaling book...the lach of ingenuity is made up for by the emotion and romance demonstrated in the book as well as the huge cliff hanger on whar happens next with her job and their relationship...four out of five stars...okay for being free

    Enjoyable. Nice pace.

Romance with reality thrown in. I identified with the main character and enjoyed the author's writing and perspective. Fun read with interesting characters and places.
