This book is a family tradition in our household that will never end. Even though the book was published many years ago it's story is timeless and is enjoyed by all ages in our house. The pictures draw you in with their detail and spark the imagination to life. I look forward to having my Dad read this book to my children in the future. I hope they re-print this book for more family's to enjoy.

I bought this book as a child and now read it to my daughter. It is one of her favorite books. I have a very used paperback and wish I could get a new copy, but it's out of print. This book is fun all year - not just at Halloween.

Story is about a mischievous act of pumpkin smashing which leaves a town baffled about what to do. Author does a great job on imagery, and makes you feel part of the story. 'The Pumkin Smasher' has a creative and fun conclusion, and Benarde's illustrations are wonderful. We take this special book out every fall to read. It has been enjoyed by three generations in my family. This is a great book that helped established a family tradition in my home. My only regret is that it is out of print.
