Review: I loved this book from start to finish. I did not want it to end. I would love to hear more about these characters in more books. Gayle is the kind of character that I love. She’s super strong, independent, smart and so witty that she has you laughing out loud so much. Jon is the perfect specimen of the perfect man: tall, dark, and smart. Gayle was open and talkative whereas Jon was more quiet and reserved. They were a perfect yin and yan that their characters worked so well together.
The book opens up to both characters getting in trouble for mistakes they made accounting in their first big job. They fast become friends. Gayle wants more of a relationship with Jon but knows it would be the end of her career. After their reprimand Gayle suspects that there is something fishy going on. She doesn’t know who is involved or what is involved but she wants to find out. While working at her job Gayle has become amateur sleuth trying to find all she can on the inconsistencies she is finding. Along the way she drags a reluctant Jon with her. They become closer and romance ensues.
I kept trying to guess who did what and what their motives were but I was never right. I was surprised how well the mystery was written with just enough suspense to keep you on your toes. Once you add in Gayle’s superb wit you have a great tale of mystery and intrigue. It was a story in an arena that is not often talked about. Corporate America tends to be stuffy and not the backdrop for a suspenseful romantic comedy. This is definitely an author to watch for; one that I have put on my must read author’s list.

Fast Paced and Thrilling!
Fast paced and thrilling, this romantic suspense keeps you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. When Gayle and Jon discover a plot to frame them for a heinous crime, they set out to prevent the perpetrators from ever succeeding. They find themselves caught up in a whirlwind of events, ultimately leading them to the truth about the crime. Gayle and Jon also find themselves confronting one another and exploring the depth of their relationship, giving way to passion and desire. Written with witty humor, action and romance, The P.U.R.E. is a great, quick read that is guaranteed to take you on one heck of a ride.
I was provided a copy of the book by BTS eMag for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review – all conclusions are my own responsibility.

I loved this book. The story is sexy, funny, and taught me never to be afraid to read outside my normal genre...
I was lucky enough to receive a pre arc of Ms. Gillian's book, The P.U.R.E a few weeks ago. I picked it up for the first time yesterday (yes, you read correctly) and read it in less than a day. I am an urban fantasy/paranormal romance girl at heart, so color me shocked when I found myself turning pages four hours later to see what happened next!
When new accounting hire Gayle Lindley, and her smokin' hot partner Jon Cripps, are wrongly accused of botching the numbers on their first audit, Gayle tries to ferret out the truth and stumbles on a dangerous conspiracy. She drags Jon along on her amateur sleuthing escapades putting both their lives and careers on the line. The chemistry between these two is undeniable, strike that, steamy, and the mystery kept me guessing right up to the very end.
If you thought a romantic suspense about a couple of CPA's in trouble might read a bit dull, think again. Ms. Gillian's wit is razor sharp. The pace flies like a bullet from a gun and hits the target with satisfying accuracy.

Fun, easy read.
This book left me wanting more. I was hooked right from the beginning of the story and couldn't wait to finish. Gayle is a fresh character, who you like right off the bat.
The only reason I give it four stars instead of five, is it's more romance than I normally enjoy. I was expected a mystery with a bit of romance, but this was a romantic mystery through and through. If it had been any more romantic, I probably would have been turned off. However, the characters and the mystery story really bring it all together for a good, fast read.
Kudos to the author. I would definitely try other books written by her.

I loved this book. It was a lot of fun right from the start. Told in first person by Gayle. She was can be very witty, very intelligent young woman and can get herself into some trouble from time to time, quite a bit really. Then you have swoon worthy Jon. He is smart, shy, handsome and has a few secrets your never sure what his story is. The story will grab you from the first page and keep you turning the pages wondering when the roller coaster ride will end. And it is a fun ride at that!! Dont pass up this up and I hope to read more on Gayle and Jon.

This book was the right mix of mystery, suspense and romance. I loved delving into the world of accounting through the eyes of Gayle. This isn't the type of book I would normally read but I'm so glad I did as I loved it. Gayle was such a character to adore. I loved her willingness to put herself out there, her fight to take on her harrasers, and her ability to do it all while falling in love with John. I loved that Gayle didn't let anyone talk down to her and she knew just how to work people and get things done. It was so cute to see such a fireball considering she was so little. This book was good as the author explained the accounting world in terms the average person would understand. It felt like since Gayle and John were leading the story it made more sense. Gayle and John's hijinks along the way as they try to solve the mystery were hilarous at some points. I found myself just laughing out loud at some of it. John was such a great match for Gayle. They complemented each other so well and played off of each other well. The chemistry between them was amazing too. You could just tell they would end up together and sizzle once they did. Overall this was a great read and I would highly recommend it to others

When I was offered a free advance copy of The P.U.R.E. from its publisher, I almost passed. I am not a mystery fan. I prefer something with lots of action and explosions. But I figured, what the heck, it’s free. So, I sat down one day and began reading what I expected to be a dull, boring drama. Boy, was I in for a surprise. Claire Gillian did an amazing job intertwining the overall mystery plot with the “Girl falling for the guy at the office” plot. Not being a mystery fan, I actually gravitated more toward the romance aspect initially, but Ms. Gillian quickly sucked me in to her overall world of corporate Hell. The best part about this book is the really defined main characters. I totally believed them, and living in a cubicle myself for the last twenty years, I can totally relate to the inter-office politics. The main character is a very much matured version of Nancy Drew. She’s a busy-body “can’t stand anyone having a secret” type. As annoying as that characteristic sounds, she is portrayed as strong, smart, and extremely real. She isn’t a tall lanky Barbie Doll. She is petite, and has a big rear end… again… “real”. I felt like I knew her, and none of her “sleuthing” seemed over the top. As noted in the book description, there is a strong romantic element to this novel, and I have to give Ms. Gillian extra brownie points for making sure the characters always use condoms. Two characters even have a conversation about STDs and birth control. For myself, having lost a cousin to a sexually transmitted disease, I have to nod in appreciation to the author. This is the first time I have read anything that didn’t ignore that detail/concern like it didn’t exist. Everything about this novel was believable and compelling, and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone. Am I now a mystery fan? No, not at all. Would I buy another Claire Gillian novel? Yes, absolutely. I wouldn’t hesitate for a single second.

Overview
Fresh out of college, Gayle's career path should follow the yellow brick road straight to the top. Thanks to a menial errand gone wrong, a wayward tongue, and a randy supervisor who won't take 'no' for an answer, Gayle's stuck in corporate hell....
