The Queen’s Consorts. Just laying eyes on one is a death sentence. So when Sari, who spent most of her life on the streets, ends up entangled in a steamy relationship with the two most forbidden men on the planet, she knows it can’t end well.

After a brutal attack, Sari’s taken to the Sacred City, exposing her to the secret lives of the Rayians who rule in the long lost queen’s absence. It’s in this darkly sexual world where she first meets the legendary consorts.

Too handsome and talented for their own good, Calder and Taryen have learned to trust only each other in order to survive. Bred to be feared warriors and exclusive companions to a queen, instead they’re slaves to other Rayians desires for them.

Their brutal lives make the two consorts hesitant to care for Sari when she’s unexpectedly dumped in their laps, but they soon discover she’s different from the cruel women they’re used to serving. Drawn to Sari on a soul deep level, Calder and Taryen can’t seem to stop themselves from going back for one more taste of the beautiful outsider...even when it puts the fate of the entire world in jeopardy.

Reviewed by Crystal Book provided by the publisher for review Review originally posted at Romancing the Book This was a really exciting book that had my attention from the first page. Sari is living like a run away. She really doesn’t know much about her past. She knows that if men catch her that she will be sold into slavery because women are rare. For every female there are two males. Takes a little to really understand this book but it is worth it. Calder and Taryen are consorts that are meant for the queen. The only problem is that the queen has been missing since her mom was killed. Calder and Taryn are used by other Rayian females and they have to obey no matter what because of the power the women have over them. When they are in charge of healing Sari they start having feelings for her that is only meant for their queen. This book had mystery, suspense and passion. I got to experience new things while I read this book and the author did a great job. I just got so into the story line and the characters that I couldn’t seem to put the book down. I just had to find out what would happen next. I knew that it had to be something big. When I found out what it was it was I just couldn’t believe it. I would hate to know I couldn’t control my destiny and never know that I wouldn’t get to make up my own mind what I wanted to do. I can understand why Taryen doesn’t want to have anything to do with women. If I had to live with what Calder and Taryen had to then I believe I wouldn’t be able to live with myself. It takes a special woman to heal the pain that they had to go through. I can’t wait to see if there will be more books like this written by this author. It would make a wonderful series. It has M/M and M/F/M in it. There are some really hot scenes in this book.
