    WHEREAS MANY DIETS FOCUS ON WEIGHT LOSS AND BALANCE LIVING, ‘DASH’ NOT ONLY DO THIS BUT ALSO ADDRESSES AND ATTACKS THE ONSET OF THE DISEASE CALLED HYPERTENSION. EXTRA SPENDING FOR ‘SPECIAL’ FOODS IS FROWNED UPON, TO THE POINT WHERE YOU ARE ENCOURAGED TO PURCHASE REGULAR FOOD FROM YOUR LOCAL SUPERMARKET. THE MOST CRITICAL REQUIREMENT IS THAT YOU READ LABELS FOR SPECIFIC INGREDIENTS AND STICK TO THE RECOMMENDED PLAN.

    This book is not badly written, and looks as if it’s been reasonably well edited after a fashion – a very predictable, uniform fashion. The information appears very accurate, yet with nothing new under or over the sun. As such, it’s available at the flip of a google switch, and an Amazon click. Once again – a lot of recipes that will leave open jars and packages of ingredients everywhere with suggestions of using freezer bags and the like. And even though many of the recipes show use of some of the same ingredients, how often will the reader be using these specific recipes to justify purchasing all the suggested ingredients, and not have them go bad or, at the very least, take up space. I feel this book would work better if: 1 - the text was woven through the recipes. 2 – Testimonials were given as to the effectiveness of this eating regimen. 3 – It were more motivationally oriented, and 4 – It used its own formatting from cover to cover.

    This is a very approachable starter book for people starting out on the DASH diet. It explains what radicchio looks like, and what pancetta is. It explains what types of foods to look for, buy, and how to cook them. This is a great basic cookbook with easy to follow instructions and names that won’t freak out timid midwestern cooks & eaters.

    For example, instead of making tzatziki, they call it Fresh Garlic & Herb Yogurt Dip. Instead of calling their soup Tom Ka Gai, they call it Thai Chicken Coconut Milk. See? Not intimidating and a way to bring international tastes to what seems like a limited and boring diet.

    I also do have many of the “unusual” ingredients recommended, like wasabi and fish sauce.

    This book is a great reference for some quick, easy and delicious low-sodium meals. The ingredients are common, which makes it easy to shop for. The diet is set up in a way that is easy to follow, and the recipes are delicious. I was glad to see many of the foods I already eat.

    This is a tremendously helpful book. I¿m re-learning how to cook healthy because my husband and I are both working to bring our blood pressure numbers down. I dreaded cooking tasteless meals, but with the help of this book, I¿m cooking some of the best meals I¿ve ever made. It would have been nice to have pictures of the finished dishes, but the recipes are laid out so clearly with calorie and sodium counts, that I never really missed them. The Super Fast Breakfast Burrito is our favorite meal to begin our day.

    If you want to live longer and eat healthier, this book is a great buy.  Its major goal is to help you battle high blood pressure, but its highly encouraging tone will help you rethink what is best for your body.  Its approach is so gentle that it intentionally incorporates a little wiggle room for those guilty food pleasures you realistically cannot li
    ve without.  Full of fun wisdom.

    This e-book is so helpful because it gives tips on how to lower cholesterol, blood pressure and how to prevent many diseases including cancer. Some of the recipes include no bake dishes like peanut butter power bars, smoothies and salads. There are breakfast recipes, snacks, appetizers, soups, entrees and desserts. This e-book explains what to eat and how much to eat while on the dash diet. This e-book helps you plan ahead, create a meal plan, gives shopping list tips, and reminds you to always read labels. I highly recommend this e-book!

    The Quick + Easy Dash Diet Cookbook lives up to its title. This is a collection of recipes that are very easy to prepare and offer a nice range of choices for your mealtime menu: all of the main courses plus side dishes and snacks.  
    Developed by the National Institutes of Health, the Dash Diet helps people who’ve been diagnosed with hypertension with the goal of maintaining a low-sodium, low-fat, and low-sugar regimen, without eliminating tasty foods.
    The book also gives practical tips on how to prepare meals and what to keep in stock with the added bonus of it being very economical.

    Primarily a guide to the DASH diet made easy, this book is also an excellent for anyone using nutrition to stay
    healthy. Designed to support learning solid healthy eating habits, advice covers how to plan your grocery list,
    avoiding temptation while shopping, and being naturally budget wise. I love the recipes because there are no
    alien ingredients, healthy snacks are included, and everything is quick and easy to prepare.  This book was an
    awesome gift for a health conscious person like me!

    I liked alot of the recipes. I wouldn't usually try these type of recipes, but when i got the book, i decided to try some of them out. My family really liked the grilled-shrimp skewers. I really like grilled shrimp and the family really enjoyed it. I would definitely make this recipe again, and hopefully i can find other recipes that i think we would like.

    The recipes in this health-conscious cookbook use everyday ingredients and use preparation methods that are popular now. The recipes fill the categories of Breakfast, Snacks and Appetizers, Soups and Salads, Entrees, and Desserts. Actually, all the recipes look as if they would taste really good. I’m not writing this on an empty stomach. I made the Morning Muesli and ate it up just a minute ago.

    This is a terrific book that details what the DASH diet is all about. It is much more that lowering blood pressure. You will learn how to eat truly nutritious food, and how to save money while doing it. The recipes look very appetizing and there are many of them.

    Good but once I again and I will always say this you do not chan

    Good but once I again and I will always say this you do not change your diet from the health conditions you suffer from by changing the acidicity. When you eat meat with a dash of salad on the side you aren't any healthier and you are still inclined to have high blood pressure because of it. The problem with these health books is they say if you add to much salt add less salt, if salt doesn't work use a a salt alternative. You never reach the root of the problem and the problem a lot of times is that when you change your diet it means just that it doesn't mean to change the salt intake or to throw a vegetable to the thing already filled with way to much to sodium giving you the high blood pressure in the first place.

    Approaches eating sensibly. I am addicted to sweets and am trying to wean myself off. The recipes
    in this book are great for that because even the desert recipes are sensible, including the coconut
     bars and cookies. If you are like me and trying to make better food choices, this is a great book for you.

    DASH is an acronym for Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension.  This book contains recipes for more than 70 breakfasts, dinners, light lunches, and snacks—many of which I found unique and yummy.  So far, the frittata muffins and the breakfast quinoa were the most successful.  A lot of these dishes can be made with items I already had on hand, so that was great.  I'll certainly be trying the zucchini pancakes and the white chicken chili, though not together.  ;-)  For the record, I was given a free copy for review.

    I think this is a great book for someone that is trying to learn

    I think this is a great book for someone that is trying to learn how to cook with less salt for a family member with hypertension. 
    The recipes are very straight forward also most recipes are fairly quick to make.
    I will be using this cook book often because my husband needs to watch the salt in his diet.
