Small in size, huge in information

Information presented in a Q&A format is intended for the beginning, as well as the more experienced, quilter. This book is invaluable! I consider it a first choice. It covers all of the basics and answers questions any quilter might have. Reducing/enlarging a block pattern, foundation piecing, settings, bindings, and an especially handy chapter on quilter's math add value. The text is easy to read; explanations are concise, but clear. Line drawings very clearly demonstrate concepts. Even the index is well done and easy to use. Great value from a reliable and highly-thought-of publisher. Highly recommended!

    The Quilting Answer Book

It truly is just that. A problem solving book with lots of tips for new and not so new quilters. Tips for quilt making from selecting fabric to finishing quilt. Lots of practical tips on problems you occur along the quilting process. I wish I had this book when I first started quilting. I took a couple of classes for much, much more than the cost of this book and they did not cover 1/3 the information I found here.

    Great reference style book

This has become my Quilt Bible as I keep it handy whenever making a quilt. I love the diagrams in particular. It doesn't go into tons of detail, as it's a small book, but it provides what's necessary. I love the size, as I take it along with me & often read it while sitting at long lights in my car, the pharmacy, etc.

It's index is actually really good. Don't know why most of the quilt books have such horrible indexes, but this one is very good. Because it's a reference style book the index is critical.
