Meet the Author
Joan D. Vinge has been called "one of the reigning queens of science fiction." She has written numerous science fiction novels, among them The Snow Queen and the novelette Eyes of Amber, both of which won the Hugo Award. Joan D. Vinge has a degree in anthropology from San Diego State University. She lives in Madison, Wisconsin, with her husband and two children.
Oren Sherman is a nationally acclaimed artist and illustrator working in the tradition of the great American poster artists of the 1920s and 1940s. A graduate of the prestigious Rhode Island School of Design, he brings his lifelong interest in and passion for Greek myths to his collection, his first forray into illustrating books for young people. Oren Sherman works in Boston's Fenway Studios and divides his time between Boston and Cape Cod.
