Overview

"Everyone is looking for the real in whatever they endeavor. Garrison Wynn went out looking for real answers to real success challenges—and he found them. If you want them, get this book real fast!"
—Jeffrey Gitomer, New York Times and Wall Street Journal bestselling author of The Little Red Book of Selling

Life and business aren’t fair,

which is good. If they were, you couldn’t

seize the unfair advantage.

Think about it. Is your CEO the smartest

person in the company? Is the head of your

department more driven than you? Does the

leading company in your industry make the

best products? Probably not. They all have one

thing in common, though: They’re on top of

the pile because they discovered and exploited

their unfair advantage—and with the help

of business expert and motivational dynamo

Garrison Wynn, you can do the same.

The Real Truth about Success is the culmination

of ten years’ worth of interviews with more

than 5,000 top performers in their fields.

During the process, Wynn discovered that

better brains, a positive attitude, and superior

all-around quality rarely drive true success.

Rather, the most successful people in

the world leverage their unique, distinctive

qualities—whatever they may be—to propel

themselves to the front of the line.

In The Real

Truth about Success, Wynn helps you:

  • Discover (or create) your own

    personal advantage

  • Align it with the most appropriate goals
  • Transition from self-knowledge to repeatable

    implementation

  • Relentlessly put your advantage to practical use
  • Bask in the sunshine of well-deserved success

All of us have a personal advantage we can

use to stack the cards in our own favor.

What’s yours? High intelligence? Good looks?

Likability? Great connections? (Your unfair

advantage may well be a talent for leveraging

other peoples’ unfair advantage.)

Refreshingly (sometimes brutally) honest

about what it takes to get to the top, The Real

Truth about Success blows the lid off the secret

of their success—so you can make it the secret

of your success.

    Really IS the Real Truth!

The REAL Truth About Success takes Garrison's signature wit from the keynote podium to the printed page. It's funny, it's on target, and it's chock-full of new perspectives on how to win an unfair fight. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to be more influential in business or in their personal life.

Drawing on Garrison's experience as a manager and sales leader, and his incredible talent for storytelling, The REAL Truth strikes a blow at common success myths and conventional wisdom, and tells it like is. Forget everything you thought you knew about how to get ahead. The REAL Truth About Success is enlightening, fresh and unlike anything I've read before.

Perfect for this year's holiday gift lists

Perfect for all those new college graduates just starting out in the business world. The road looks long and hard these days for those with freshly minted degrees. What can they do to stand out, make waves, get management's attention and rise up the corporate ladder?

Garrison Wynn's answer is to: be yourself! Everyone has advantages, talents, capacities, connections and virtues, but are afraid to use them, or don't know themselves well enough to figure out what they are. Sometimes it's how you fill a room, sometimes it really is who you know, sometimes it can be your own worst fault that helps you to succeed in just the right industry.

Those who are successful, who win awards, who make the bonus, who are the boss, are not usually the smartest people in the room. But, they know how to hire those smart people, listen to them, and put them to work with encouragement and support.

This humorous and engaging book is just right for younger people who need the encouragement to find their best attributes and instincts and not be afraid to use them. And also for those with some work experience who need to take a deep look inside and find what's necessary to make it to the next level of their careers. I would happily hand it to any college graduate I know next June.

    Very enlightening

I thought it was a very well writen book over all. He put in terms that I can relate to and in my profession that is very helpful. I gained new insight as to why I am so good. He would have nailed me but I would have lied to him first...

Not Another Self-Help to Get Rich Quick?!?!?

Nope, sure not. Garrison Wynn's excursion into this over-written genre is an exposé of not only those he interviewed, but himself! In conversational writing you find yourself sitting at the table with Wynn, over dinner, having a pleasant discussion about how everything else anyone has ever told you about success is a lie (and that is just Chapter 1 - Lies About Success-and Why We Believe Them). With real-life examples and his own "sidebars," the secrets of success are revealed in definition and their application in a format that often leads to laughter and always draws a second thought. After reading, you'll have the tools to build your own path to success; not just the path someone else has used as per typical. And most insightfully, Wynn explains that not everyone wants to go down that path...so if you are not successful a few years after reading, at least you'll know why.

Praise for The Real Truth about Success

Wynn's honest style of writing ensured reader enthusiasm and had me looking forward to the pearl of wisdom as the pages turned. I have seen Garrison Wynn speak on several occassions and was impressed (and amused). Reading his book has let me slow down and savor everything he has to say for himself and this has been a real pleasure.

I recommend The Real Truth about Success without reserve!
