Overview

The Reaping, A Haunting Young Adult Paranormal Romance

The Fahllen Series
Book 1- The Reaping
Book 2- The Reckoning

**includes an excerpt of Wiccan**

Every hell has its devil. And Carson is about to become intimately acquainted with hers.

Seventeen-year-old wallflower Carson Porter has always dreamed of being something special, but what she gets isn’t exactly what she signed up for.

Yeah, a girl’s supposed to change as she gets older, but this is ridiculous! Shiny skin, greener eyes and a run-in with the flesh-eating dead are just a few of the changes Carson has to adjust to, not to mention the arrival of the very hot and very dangerous Derek Hrolf. If all that wasn’t enough to turn her once hum-drum life into something unrecognizable, a twin sister that haunts her from the shadows and a wheeling, dealing collector of souls will definitely do the trick. The question is: what will her life become? And what will she become?

**This book contains graphic scenes and some sensuality**

    Nothing happens

I got this based on the amazing reviews and ended up wondering whether the others read the same book as me. First of all, nothing happens for most of the book. I was so bored I fell asleep a few times and really struggled to finish reading. The last 20 pages or so FINALLY a reaper appeared, but it was just lame and unoriginal. I got two books by this author and both were just bad. Also, I'm 17 and noticed plenty of typos, which really annoyed me. Since there was no plot and I couldn't relate to the annoying main character who just kept on talking for most of the book, I wouldn't recommend it.

    Wow...now for something completely different!

I rated this three stars, but really it should be three and a half. I really loved the plot of the story, but I had a really hard time following along. I was confused during Carson's dreams and visions and wished it was explained earlier in the book. I had a hard time likely Carson for over half the book. However the story was interesting enough that it dragged me along to the finish. The ending was what really redeemed the book for me and left me interested in reading the sequel. I would recommend this if you are looking for a very different kind of paranormal story, but be prepared for it to drag a little in the middle. Also you may want to yell at and slap some sense into Carson a few times in the story.

    Chilling... and awesome.

Oh, my. I don't even know if I have words to describe this novel. I was taken aback by the creativity and uniqueness of this author.

It reminded me vaguely of Dean Koontz, sort of a Dean Koontz for Young Adults. It was chilling, haunting and the ending will stay with me for a very long time. I am looking VERY much forward to the sequel to this book! (And I will be seeking out her other titles, too!)

    Just kind of okay

I felt like Carson and Derek, when they weren't kissing, were arguing, and it was kind of annoying. I just wanted to see them get along a little more.

    Good vs. Evil

This was a very entertaining story of a young teen girl who finds her world turned upside down when she begins to display some unusual talents. Through a series of events, Carson discovers the truth of her past and will soon meet the mother and sister she believed to be dead; but not everything is as it seems. In a battle of good vs. evil Carson must not only save her family but protect her own soul.

    Quite Good

I liked the story, and the balance that it had, their wasn't to much or to little "love" interest. And the dead people gave it a nice charm. lol But in all seriousness I really did like it.
