Good To Know

1.) I started The Deed (my first romantic comedy and the first book to be published) a year after my mother's death. I was very close to my mother and the year following her death was about the most miserable time imaginable. But then I decided I was tired of being down and unhappy, and looked around for something to lift my spirits and make me laugh. When I couldn't find anything, I decided to sit down and write my own. It worked! Emmalene and Amaury's antics in The The Deed had me chuckling as I wrote.
2.) I met my husband in New York in July 2003. I was there because of the RWA conference and he was there on vacation. The first day there we kept running into each other and chatting in front of the hotel, and then he asked to join our group (it was very brave of him. He was the lone male amongst six or seven women, lol). He's a Brit and I'm Canadian and the first two months of our relationship were conducted by phone as well as over the internet. Our first date was a week in New York in September, followed by three weeks in England. He then came to Canada in both November and December, the first time to propose and the second time for Christmas with my family and then to take me back to England with him for New Years. I lived in Northern England for two years. We married in New York and now live in Canada.
3.) I was writing about my husband before I met him. Single White Vampire came out in September 2003 and I took a copy with me to England when I went for the three weeks. I walked into my now-hubby's house to find at least six months worth of mail unopened and stacked up on a shelf inside the front door. When I stopped dead, eyes going wide with shock and asked "My God. That's mail. You don't open your mail?" He looked embarrassed and muttered some explanation about bills automatically being paid by the bank so no need to open those and everything else was unsolicited and he couldn't be bothered. When I burst out laughing, he started to frown and said "What?" My response was to dig out the copy of Single White Vampire and hand it over with the suggestion he read it. The mail thing wasn't the only similarity he had to Lucern Argeneau. There are many more and when he sat down to read the book, he kept stopping and turning a rather startled and even suspicious gaze my way and muttering that this sounded familiar" or that did. I had to point out that it really was coincidence, that I had written that story at least nine months before meeting him. LOL.

This is an intriguing Rogue Hunter romantic urban fantasy

For centuries, Nicholas Argeneau was one of the best vampire hunters tracking down those who broke the immortal law. Fifty years ago, he quit and apparently turned rogue.

However, when a vampire attacks mortal bar manager Josephine Willan, Nicholas cannot stop himself from getting involved; he rescues her and cannot resist stealing a kiss. He quickly learns what happens with good Samaritans when he is captured by agents of the Vampire Council who wipe out Jo's memory of the event and them. As Nicholas awaits trial, Jo regains the memory of their kiss. She helps him escape. However, when his Uncle Lucian Argeneau learns who she is to Nicholas, he uses her as a lure to recapture the rogue. Once again Lucien and Nicholas underestimates Jo, who feels her well being is best taken care of at Nicholas' side even as she tries to learn why the kindhearted vampire was declared a rogue.

This is an intriguing Rogue Hunter romantic urban fantasy with the only known Argeneau to go rogue starring with his life mate as the audience learns why. Adding to the fun of the family reunion is a degree of connection as her sister and his former associate Mortimer are engaged (see THE ROGUE HUNTER). The story line is fast-paced from the opening scene when he rescues her and she accuses him of the "penis-eye thing" and never looks back (pun intended). Series readers will fully enjoy the superb tale of the intrepid human and the vampire forced to come out of the cold now that he has found his life mate.

    Very enjoyable

I enjoyed it, but it's the second book where they wrongfully thought Nicholas was a murderer. I got a bit tired of everyone being completely blind to the truth.

The characters were good, the plot was intricate, but one book with everyone hunting the good guy would have been enough. They should have figured out he was innocent way sooner.

    Left wanting

I've read every book in this series and enjoied them all but I was disappointed at the end of this one. It leaves you hanging with the mystery unsolved. Bad Form!

    Great Book

Nicholas is an engaging hero and I absolutely adored Josephine. I only didn't give it five stars because I've read the entire series within a month, and I think perhaps I'm a bit saturated with the writing style.

    A Fun read

You would think after 12 of these books that I would grow tired of them. While they do have a very similar plot point, immortal finds lifemate, etc, each book and characters are very different and somehow each book ends up being fresh and fun.

I really enjoyed this installment in the Argeneau series. Jo and Nicholas were both great characters. I really loved Jo, she was so sassy and funny and smart. She kept Nicholas on his toes, and that's hard to do with someone who is centuries old. This one had the great twist of trying to figure out why Nicholas had become and rogue, and then trying to figure what exactly happened all those years ago, and if all the suspicious blanks could make a difference.

Overall, this book was light and funny, but still managed to be full of action and mystery. I love how the characters from other books in the series always seem to play into the new books so that you can see how each of their lives are progressing, without the story feeling overdone or becoming boring. If Lynsay Sands keeps making them so fresh then I'm sure to stick with this series for a long time to come.

    Favorite!

This is my favorite of the Argeneau/Rogue Hunter series. There's more mystery involved than some of them, and Nicholas and Jo are great characters. And, of course, it has all of Lynsay Sands' characteristic humor and romance. Definitely recommend it.

    Ending Needed More

I was excited that Nicholas Argeneau finally was able to find his lifemate and find happiness. I'm happy that he was finally found innocent of the crime, but I would have liked to know who was behind setting him up to fall for the crime and who killed his first wife. The story lets you believe that there was some sinister plot going on and that's why he was set up for a crime he didn't commit, but the end of the story just says he's innocent without any further explanation. I mean the poor man was on the run for fifty years and his family had turned their backs on him, so you would think he would want to know who put the blame on him and set him up. It's a good thing his lifemate believed in him, or he would still be on the run.

    Good Read

I recently discovered this series and have read all the books and loved all of them, however this one is a good read, but the ending is "like what". Nevertheless it's a good book and can't wait for the next one.

I love this series, but the end of this book bothered me. Yes Nicholas is exonerated, but how?? If it wasn't for the ending I would have loved this book.

The Renegade Hunter (Argeneau Vampire Series #12) by Lynsay Sands

I have read all the books in this series and love the way this author writes. Her characters are funny, with emotions and passions and interesting senerios that keep you afraid to put the book down. The end was a cliff hanger because it left you wondering how they learned certain info (Can't spoil it for you). A good read for romance buffs who love a little Bit in their stories..... If you like this book you must read the first one in the series, "A Quick Bite" to introduce you to the family.
