    My favorite of the trilogy!

While I loved all 3 books in this series, this one is by far my favorite. The story really moved me and stayed with me for a long time. I have read all of Mary Lu's books and love them all.

    Highly Recommended

I really liked The Restitution, and I definitely recommend it for those readers who love pirates, history, and romance. Although I couldn't quite relate to Isabel or Kent, I still found myself cheering for them in the end. By the time I finished, I also wished for another book with Hann and Cutter as the protagonists because I loved them so much! I may not have loved Isabel and Kent quite as much, but did love this book!

    Simply Marvelous

This is the third book in The Legacy of the King's Pirates trilogy. MaryLu did a great job writing yet another success!
Isabel Ashton is a young woman who is familiar with the trials in life. After giving birth to her illegitimate son, she finds herself without a family and home. She is taken in by the kind Reverend Thomas. Even though she bore her son against her will, she loves him more than her own life. When little Frederick is taken by thieves searching for revenge against the baby's father, Isabel's life is torn apart. When Captain Kent Carlton (Frederick's father) enters the scene, he resurrects old fears in Isabel, and a past she would rather put to rest.
Kent offers to help rescue his son, and Isabel has no other hope, so she accepts. She is terrified by this man, and all he wants to do is make amends for something he should have never done. Amidst all this turmoil, can love root in hearts ravaged by the cruel things in the world?

    My favorite in the series!

All of the books in the Legacy of the King's Pirates series have been awesome, but this story was probably the best of them all. It's a difficult task to take someone who was so unlikeable in previous books - Captain Carlton - and make him someone you want to see Lady Ashton choose to love and spend the rest of her life with. The author has such rich, emotional characters and so much depth to her stories that it's hard to not feel sad when the story ends. I enjoyed this novel to the last page, because when it comes to torturing her characters, M.L. Tyndall is the queen of tension. The Redemption was riveting. I also loved how Tyndall created pirate cuss words without having the characters actually swear. Her skill with the English language and her ability to describe things is incredible. This is an author who puts you in every scene--from the stench of the filth inside the ship to the hair-raising fear experienced by the characters. And the faith element was once again believable. There is no easy faith on pirate ships, but God shows His love in impossible, but true-to-life situations. This is an author I will not miss. Every book she writes is a treasure and I highly recommend them all.

Notorious pirate Kent Carlton seduced and ruined Isabel Ashton. Without a second look back to see how she was doing, he left her unaware she is pregnant. Her parents treated her like a pariah and totally ignored their grandson Frederick as if he was the devil instead of an innocent child.----------- In 1669 when Frederick is kidnapped, Isabel, in Port Royal, Jamaica, has no choice except turn to Kent, a man she loathes. Whereas she also turns to God praying for her son¿s safe return, Kent scoffs at her as he prefers mortal intervention rather than unreliable miracles to save their offspring. Meanwhile Isabel realizes that her hatred of Kent is a means of coping as she loves him and prays for his soul.----------- The third Legacy of the King's Pirates (see RELIANCE and REDEMPTION) will grab reader¿s attention from the moment that Frederick is abducted and not let go until the climax. The story line is fast-paced yet contains incredible levels of detail so much so fans will feel they are in seventeenth century Port Royal. Throughout the exciting tale, M.L. Tyndale showcases without preaching or intruding how much Isabel believes in the Lord even as she feels her faith is being tested she compares quite fascinatingly to her beloved cynical pirate who believes in the sword not the word. Fans will enjoy this terrific inspirational historical romance while also wondering just like Kent does how strong the heroine¿s faith is if they fail to rescue Frederick.------------- Harriet Klausner

"The Restitution" by MaryLu Tyndall, this last novel t

"The Restitution" by MaryLu Tyndall, this last novel to "Legacy of the King's Pirate" is yet another very hard novel to set aside without knowing what the out come of the story will be! In this story there are two new main characters that were minor, but still played a major role in the first two novels, which take action in this novel. Go on an adventure with Lady Isabel Ashton as she sets out to find her illegitimate son, Frederick, who has recently been kidnapped by a pirate who is out to get revenge on Frederick's biological father, Kent. Captain Kent Carlton sets out to find Isabel to win her heart and forgiveness, as he gets word from Richard Sawkins on the information he needs.

Isabel is determined and clings to a hope of someday marrying a nobleman with title and wealth, but when her baby is kidnapped, she slowly is seeing things different that maybe title and wealth is not everything it seems to be. Kent determined to make amends with Isabel, though as he keeps on trying he hears her words to him that slices through his heart like a sword. See how the title of this novel, "The Restitution", plays throughout the whole story through Isabel and Kent that to make things right, they will need to realize God is always in control and He can forgive even the worst of sins. The "Legacy of the King's Pirate" has been my most favorite series to read, and I know I will be reading this series over and over to where it will never get tiring!

Handsome pirates, damsels in distress, and forbidden love can all be found in this seafaring adventure. This book is a wonderful addition to the Legacy of the King's Pirates series. Another page-turner that you won't want to put down! Full of action, love, and testing of faith. Join Lady Ashton on her journey to seek out her baby, find love, and renew her faith.

    Beautifully written!

This book was the most anticipated for me above the entire series. Although I had to read the first two books first which was not disappointing (each are excellent), it was still worth the wait. The loveliness of the storyline that MaryLu Tyndall wrote is breathtaking. The emotional turmoil Isabel faced after having been ravished, stripped of her virtue, discovering she is pregnant, and then facing the kidnapping of her son displays the turmoil in her heart as she is forced to reconcile with the very pirate who was the cause for each scenario. Definitely worth the read!

    Romantic Pirate Adventure

This third book in "The Legacy of the King's Pirates" series is the story of Isabel - the lady ravished by Captain Kent Carlton and rescued from his clutches by Merrick and Charlisse in "The Reliance". Isabel's son, Frederick, has been kidnapped by a pirate seeking revenge on the child's father. When Kent learns of his son's existence and circumstances, he finds Isabel and asks for her help to find the boy. His plan is to make restitution to the lady he loves for the wrongs that he's done to her. He hopes that their time together at sea will lead Isabel to love him back. Obstacles abound in the form of Lord Sawkins, the man who travels with them because he knows where Isabel's son is. He has designs on the lady, as well, and a secret or two up his sleeve.

M.L. Tyndall pens some extraordinary "undercurrent" moments between Kent and Isabel that will make readers sigh out loud! I am truly amazed how well she developed Kent's character throughout this series to be able to take the reader from loathing him to being surprised by him to actually cheering him on. The last 100 or so pages of this book is can't-put-it-down-action!

    #3 From Betrayal to Love

The Restitution is the third book in the Legacy of the King's Pirates series.
The Restitution turns the ugly situation of Kent and Isabel into a sweet, beautiful story. Kent's character changes drastically in the time from the second to the third book. Kent is now the hero of the story, not the antagonist. Isabel is the heroine of the story and has also been changed since the time of the last book.
The story has danger, intrigue mystery, romance, and funny lines. It's fascinating to watch Isabel learn to trust Kent, and Kent coming to love Isabel and God, as they struggle to get Frederick, their child, back.
The book is fast-paced, and the ending is unpredictable!
This is my second favorite book of the series, though it is the last. I even picture them very close to the cover. In fact, it's my favorite cover out of all of MaryLu Tyndall's books.

    The Best for Last!!!!

This book was my favorite of the Legacy of the King's Pirates series. MaryLu defiantly saved her best for last! Everything was well-written. Kent has changed a lot since the first book, and for the better. Isabel was a good character, but she was a little too annoying for my taste, though I liked Kent so much that he made up for it. I loved watching the story of how Isabel learned to forgive Kent for what he did to her and I was just as anxious as Kent and Isabel were for them to find their son, Frederick! It made me feel like I was a part of this great story! The only things I didn't like were a: I was sad it was the end of the series, and b: I wished there were another story about Cutter and Hann, my two favorite characters! All together, this was a great book and I would enthusiastically recommend it to all of my friends.

    Keep them coming MaryLu!

This novel was amazing! The only problem I had with it, is that it was the last in the trilogy. I wanted it to keep going! These novels have it all: God's power revealed, adventure, romance, intrigue, history........you will find yourself being swept away again and again. Be prepared to read these more than once!

    Awesome!

This book was a tear jerker. I opened the novel and was content, but shortly in I started to ball. This novel was so sad and so close to my heart that it was hard to notice how much I fall short of God's glory. Never have I read a book that has made me feel like this one did. I could relate to the characters. I felt like I could watch the novel playing out in my head and that I was them, or at times their best friends. If anyone likes something that will inspire and you can relate to, this is the novel, and the author to read

The best pirate story I have ever read!

While this is the third and final book in the Legacy of the King's pirates trilogy, it is actually the very first MaryLu Tyndall book I ever read. And I fell in love with it instantly! I had never read a book about pirates before, but now they are one of my favorite genres! In this super exciting, swashbuckling conclusion to the series, Isabel and Kent will have to fight a lot of battles - physically, mentally, and spiritually.
I very highly recommend this book and the entire series, and ALL of MaryLu's books!! Happy sailing!

Tyndall has made a pirate lover out of me!

I¿ve just finished reading the third book in M.L. Tyndall¿s Legacy of the King¿s Pirates series, The Restitution, and the only negative I can find is that I don¿t have a fourth book in my hand to start reading immediately. Me¿the one who said, ¿Who wants to read a book about pirates?¿ Tyndall has made a believer out of me, hooking me from the first pages of book one and carrying me right through the entire series. Though this third book moves away from the original characters to focus on two who were introduced as background characters in previous books, the story doesn¿t lag or suffer in the transference. True to the language and reality of the era and lifestyle, the author has once again combined the mystique of the pirate¿s life with the romance of the seas and come up with a winner. Long live the Legacy of the King¿s Pirates, and may the series continue indefinitely!

Kent and Isabel will steal your hearts. With real struggles, real fears, and real heart, the pirates of The Restitution will sweep you into a swashbuckling world of cannonfire and courage. A tender lovestory packed with action, The Restitution is a worthy successor to The Redemption and The Reliance.

    A Pirate's Life for Me

Ok I had been putting off reading this series for unknown reasons. I don't know why, I just never got around to the books in my TBR stack. Now after reading this book, I'm going to have to go back and read the first two. This is a highly addictive book about one of my favorite subjects. Pirates have become so 'in' in the last few years thanks to Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom. In fact, it was hard to read this book without thinking of Pirates of the Caribbean. I kept hearing the theme song in my mind and I kept picturing Kent as Jack Sparrow and Isabel as Elizabeth Swann. But this book had a way better storyline than the 3rd movie. There was so much action and adventure. I felt like I was out in the middle of the ocean, with the descriptions of the sea and the ship so vividly described. The characters are a combination of scalawags and heroes with a damsel in distress. I liked all the characters but my favorites were Hann and the doctor for reasons that you will discover if you read the book. There's a lot of everything in this book. I was really pleasantly surprised after finishing it. Highly recommended especially if you can't get sailing on the high seas out of your mind.
