Meet the Author

Born last century in a city hospital. I've been writing since grade school but got lost in the 60's, like Dorothy I fell to the Poppies; my detour off the yellow brick road lasted over three decades, just when I thought there was no hope--a miracle happened. When I sold my motorcycle for short money to feed my habit, I knew I was lost. Things got worse. It's in the book. Kicked heroin, cigarettes in that order, went from a bag-man to a happily married home owner, props to Spare Change News, and, while writing poetry decided to share a how-to book with directions back from hell. For counselors, shrinks, and especially for addicts.

    Now THIS is poetry.

Excellent, crisp imagery. I love Plath and Sexton so this was a treat. The only rhyming poem, however, was terrible and the tribute to Plath, while nice seemed a little obsessive to me so it lost a star for that. Surprised this was free. Poems like this are rare in the free ebook market. Thanks to the author/poet for a great little chapbook.

    Finest Confessional Poetry

Like all of Sylvia Plath's works this book displays some really intense imagery. Unsettling for some; a can't put down for others. One of the most gifted poet's of all time she continues to intrigue me. This is a definite read for any confessional poetry lover as well as a beginner's look at this style of writing.

    Morbid little treat

As a teacher of literature, I'm always on the hunt for someone new to me in poetry, The title caught my eye, and the quirky cover image for the Nook edition both repelled and intrigued me. True to the spirit of great poet to whom the author pays tribute, the images and voice are raw and tender, brutal and yet somehow so inviting you just can't put it down. It is a brief but fine collection of work, illustrating how one writer's voice helps another find his own.

Captures the spirit of Plath through the soul of a poet, Marc Goldfinger. I LOVED this book!!

    Great poetry, if derivative

Its one thing to pay homage to great artists through one's own art...but a whole book of poems referring to another poet kind of dissapointed me. Not meant as completely insulting- just that the poet is so good I'd love to see a greater range of subject matter...his own voice alone, not just invoking ghosts.

couldn't get past the first chapter

Generally, if a book doesn't at least want me to read more by the first chapter, I'm done with it. I never got past the first chapter.
